im now an NSF and physically im weak.did my ippt cat test a few wks ago and passed only my 2.4km run and my sit ups.i fear i will fail my ippt during bmt.my question is,will i still be able to POP if i fail my ippt?the Orientation Officer said no but i would be glad to hear your views.

please... try to pass.... at least pass within NSF 2 years
fail means no go to command school mainly..
when i was in BMT, those ppl who fail kanna confined up to 3 times

They'll likely conduct a retest first. If still fail, I believe you're allowed to POP but designated as "Attended BMT" rather than as "Passed BMT." Presuming you've fulfilled the other criteria, of course (fieldcamp, basic trainfire, 75% attendance).
It's correct that fitness results are more for command schools. BMTC's purpose, other than teaching basic soldiering, is to identify future commanders.
IPPT failures are usually "marked" after being posted to the unit, though. They typically tio extra PT cuz the overall IPPT results count in the Best Unit competition, & every CO won't want a low score affecting his promotional prospects. -
