Anyway, leonid meteor (solid rocks, sometimes mingled with iron) showers are visible whenever the earth encounters the dust trail of the comet Tempel-Tuttle. They seem to originate from the constellation Leo, hence the name. Leonid shower occurs annually, like Perseids and Orionids, spot them in november, usually peak in middle at rates of 17 per hour i read.
If i recall correctly, was given the opportunity to see them aided by binoculars perhaps close to a decade ago at pasir ris, barely visible.
Light pollution and to make it worse, the leonid particle isn't that big but if you just wanna catch a 'shooting star', find a clear open sky with dark surrounding and keep staring, you'll see.
