And I thought I have steered the topic away by asking some questions
Alas -
If you people think that you can understand God by your intellect and your scriptures and Christian practices, instead of asking God in total humility; what can I say? Some clever preacher will tell you that he understands God and God is prosperity. Yes he will quote you from scriptures as well. The reason why you have been sold the idol is very simple. You need to come to their church, their temple and their organisation to worship "their God" the idol.

Seekers in Hindusim understand that the idols they worship are not the Ultimate God of their religion; but like you, they prefer the comfort and familarity with the idols that they choose to worship. Abraham had Faith in a God that can fufill His promises or because Abraham had Faith in God, he had faith that God would fufill His promises? -

Why would somebody who has no confidence in human intellect and only depends on Faith in God be interested in having "intellectual fortitude" is beyond me

And you might observe a curious little fact that Christianity has produced a lot of fantastic thinkers and giants of the intellect. Of course it would be something that would be excluded by your little theory. It is the lack of confidence in the intellect that ended up making them so wise. -
