It was a "What was I thinking of!??!" moment.
Hair & makeup is always a risk especially if there isn't a trial session. But very surprised that your stylist, who's your regular, still did something wrong even with a picture. I mean, what more can you help him with ??
Yah... Daniel Yam dresses quite generic hahaha. But convenient & reasonably priced lah. Count yourself lucky you can wear the standard, off the rack sizes. (T__T)
Mandarin Court is one of two ballrooms there. Mandarin is an ooold hotel... my friend tells me the food is good. I never been there for banquet myself.
Uhh... every first course I've witnessed has accompanying light shows LOL Hmm what's worse, Kitaro or oldie ?
I hate the generic flow of a standard wedding dinner. Boring narcissistic slideshow that overruns. Corney, tries-too-hard-to-be-funny recount by best man about friendship and relationship. The groom making a Public Display of Love by showing off his musical prowess. Uugh!
I've been wanting to change a stylist for quite a long time, because I really don't like the way they treat us customers, especially when I've been going back there for so many years for all my hair stuff.
I make an appointment with my hairstylist at say, noon. In the end when I get there at noon, I have to wait like 15 minutes before she's free to just touch my hair. And then another person comes to wash my hair... and I sit around for another 15 minutes. It's alot of waiting. What could've been done in 1½ hours took the whole afternoon.
And in fact, the one who did the curls on Saturday was an assistant. The hairstylist merely did the finishing touch.
Change stylist... but it's so hard to find someone whom I'm comfortable with. My hair is my most precious asset I think when it grows longer I'll be adventurous (longer hair... easier to undo the damage -> just snip off) and do the switch.
Hrmmmm most people should be able to fit into Daniel Yam's sizes right? They come in S M L.
Ahh the food that night was boring. I think all Chinese wedding banquet's dishes are boring. It's all the same - sharks' fin, abalone, vegetables, duck etc, cooked in similar ways. But the dessert was nice YAM PASTE!!!!! I loooooove YAM PASTE! But the pumpkin in it was no good at all. So fibrous... I wouldn't put that kinda pumpkin in my yam paste.
My brother says when he gets married, he's gonna have cuisines from other cultures. Noooo Chinese. I think when I get married, I'll have one side Chinese and the other side... African! Hahaha just kidding. Maybe Western.
I think both are equally bad. But this is worse - my sis told me she once attended a wedding dinner whereby the entrance of the bride and groom was accompanied by Star Wars' Imperial March. -

geez I've been exhausted after last week. I've been waking up so much later these few days. Wonder if the camomile tea I've been drinking before bedtime has anything to do with this. My mom mentioned the dog barked so loudly in my rooom last night, but I didn't hear a thing! Was sleeping soo soundly.. And I think I'm falling sick too. Ughhhhhh. -

rest... sleep Learning new theory stuff (bahhahhha skipping another grade) and a new sonata piece finally something new. Phew!
I'm the sort who'd feel worse staying at home while being sick. Like whenever I have colds, I'll stop sneezing the moment I step out of the house. And when I step back in, I'll start sneezing away like I get paid $1000 per sneeze. -

The long tables will be arranged at the sides, then there'll be buffet. In the middle of the room will be a large empty space for activities.
And then while guests inside are having their buffet, some can venture out into the garden where there are chairs and tables and waiters serving cocktails and finger food and I'll have a string ensemble playing..... -
what is most important is the marriage itself...
most take all the care and effort to plan the wedding... but nary a thought for the marriage...
if she wants to, i'd do it!

"After the wedding dinner tonight, when the both of you finally have some time together, sit down and discuss how you want to spend your married life."

It'd be too late if the couple decided that they had different ideas of spending married life by then! -
