Hello Mooku, saw this poem about music, very interesting.

Rain Music
On the dusty earth-drum
Beats the falling rain;
Now a whispered murmur,
Now a louder strain.
Slender, silvery drumsticks,
On an ancient drum,
Beat the mellow music
Bidding life to come.
Chords of earth awakened,
Notes of greening spring,
Rise and fall triumphant
Over every thing.
Slender, silvery drumsticks
Beat the long tattoo –
God, the Great Musician,
Calling life anew.

The silvery drumsticks are rain right? As in, when they fall, they appear as straight strokes, and with the light reflecting off the water, they look like silvery drumsticks....
It's beautiful... I can almost picture it!

Glad that you like it, the more I read this poem the more I love it.
It is like a chant with a strong sense of rhythm.
I can imagine God calling out ‘Awake! Awake!’ And all living things obey and come to life.
Nature, Music and Religion perfectly fit into one poem. -

Poems are beautiful... I really enjoyed Practical Criticism alot back in college. I'd analyse and squeeze the poem dry and churn out pages and pages of essay in delight.. hehehehehe. -

It in turn reminds me of "What a Wonderful World"... I think Louis Armstrong sang it wonderfully... he sounded so Santa Clausy, that very heartwarming voice... like, "ho ho ho!".Originally posted by DeadPoet:Yeah, that song also very nice.
