Live music!!!

  Do you think music is better heard live? Or on recording? Or do they vary, depending on what kind of music it is?
  
  I think for some genres of music, it's better to listen to it live, like rock concerts and tribal music... but actually for classical I prefer to listen to it at home.

  anyway rock sounds diff frm cd when compared to concerts...very bad...
  
  classical prefer live for the mood but cd sounds better because it has been "treated"

  Actually it really depends. Some are better heard live but some.. well lets just say they are just better off with recordings...

  I prefer to listen to live playing of classical music. I can also get to see the musician playing the instrument. But then, it is cheaper if I just buy a CD and listen.

  personally i like listening to recordings in my own privacy.. then i'll close my eyes to concentrate on the music... the different sounds i get each time i listen.. and explore various interpretations..

  even the concert DVDs of Pearl Jam i have sound better than their studio stuff.. and they are great musicians!
  
  but NOTHING beats being in a moshpit when bands like Nine Inch Nails play!

  yep they definitely sound heaps better live! everyone moves to the music and the fantabulous atmosphere just increases the enjoyment

  some music, you feel more than you listen...
  
  as aforementioned, there is something about Pearl Jam that makes them a powerful band, that speaks to your heart rather than just your ears... that certain something that moves you to tears sometimes...
  
  and i saw that at a concert of theirs... someone who was around where we were, just broke down into sobs in the middle of Jeremy...
  
  now, that is something else a technically perfect piece of music will never be able to do

  I remember watching TV programmes when I was young. Sometimes during advertisement, they show a guitarist playing some flamenco/classical peices. Quite exciting. It always wasn't a fixed show and they were shown only during advertisement, but I make it a point to watch them whenever I saw it on TV.
  
  hmm....maybe the instrument applies more to the spanish/classical guitar than the rest of the instruments.
