The last thing this world needs is more sh!t to filter through when we are looking for sincerity and inspiration in art forms.
If you are playing in a band in your local scene and not developing a following, then you don't have a voice or a message that needs to be heard.
That's not to say you should quit. You should just quit trying to please other people and play for yourself...
Period.
Agree with Mooku. I feel local artist should explore different avenues in arts performances and not from themselves away. If you are sincere about music and art forms then you need money and opportunity to get the exposure for others to enjoy. Having an attitude does not go well with the public appreciating your art interpretation. The public is a good score card of your performances. Why should a talent be selfishly kept to oneself?
What's wrong with money? I come to terms that we NEED the money to survive or to further good works and charity. I have been to poverty stricken places in asia and many times I wish I have the money and influence to help these children.
If 9to5 jobs get paid, why shouldn't you get paid for something which you have convictions about and made a career of? Manager and directors are paid hefty sums, why shouldn't you?
Of fame? When you are performing, fame naturally follows be it good or bad, you decide. After all that's been said. Fame and fortune cannot corrupt anyone unless they allow themselves to be corrupted.
