Hey people, was wondering if you guys would know who are the singers who sing chinese R&B? David Tao, ZjL and Wang LH are the only ones i'm familiar with...
oh, and kudos to those that went to the David Tao concert, it was damn damn good. Lets hope he comes again :p -
ps. which of their songs are good at the next ktv session? lol

Actually, R&B is nothing much worth to be excited about since it's only one of the many genres of music... BUT because the Mandarin Pop scene is so saturated with trashy songs that almost have the same styles without much breakthrough, R&B stands out as something "new" and naturally appeals to many, perhaps because 1) R&B can be found in alot of western pop songs, which are widely listened to.. and 2) it's quite an easy genre of music to digest
Maybe next time I come up with another genre hahahaha then be labelled something funny

I find chinese lyrics having the potential to be more expressive (as compared to english)... but don't take my word for it... my fav song for the david tao concert for the evening was probably the 'remade' version of tian tian

Besides Tao Zhe, i fancy A-Mei's Jie Tuo, considering R&B genre.

I prefer the new version too, but not entirely. I hated the beginning. Frankly speaking.....
I'm beginning to wonder how long R&B can keep up in the Mandarin Pop scene.
Now it's still relatively new.. or fresh perhaps would be a better word, to the mandarin pop listeners... But maybe after a while people may just start to feel that there really isn't much to R&B, that styles still repeat itself etc...
