Building the Esplanade was one of the steps for Singapore to become an Arts hub, but I don't really see a rise in the number of international performances. And we don't see the Arts being more common nowadays, there's hardly anyone cultivating the habit of going for concerts after dinners, for example.
What's the determining factor for you when you watch an Arts performance? Price? Performing artists? Venue?
CULTURE
everytime great movies from the States come in... they create a biggggg hoo-ha hoo-ha that its undesirable and a load of BS... and mercilessly slaughter the movie with their clumsy hands and scissors
so what do u expect honestly from a culture that promotes toilet humor such as Holland V (i noe i gonna get flamed for this) but condemns masterpieces by Cameron, Taratino and Kubrick?
