  1.Kirk Hammett(Metallica)- i like this guy's style...very fast tapping and shredding...
  2.Tom Morello(Rage Against The Machine,Audioslave)-very inspirational guitarist...Ever see him work on the effect pedals??? Listen to "Bring em back alive"...*shivers*
  Remember,the solo was created by a guitar and done entirely live...
  3.John Mayer-I like his style... Explaination isn't really important...Just listen to his music

  Erm. I don't know? don't know of any names in the guitar scene, but I was impressed by the performance of the male guitarist from the classical rock band "The Planets". I cannot remember his name though.
  
  There was a part he did something like, move his hands very quickly from one end to the other and play on it.
