erm. it's more than just.. piano... it runs on electricity, has two keyboards, one upper and one lower, but with only four octaves on each. The electone also has pedals, depending on how many the user likes [of course not too much]. Mine has one octave plus four more keys up to G, but i think most have only one octave.Originally posted by kopiosatu:what's that, the electric piano?

More than one sound can be played by pressing just one key... and besides the piano, there are also other sounds like chimes, xylophone, guitar, pan flute etc etc.. and you get those rhythm stuff like drum beats etc.
etc etc

erm, classical guitar has other techniques, so u can't say that classical guitar doesn't give u much variety.Originally posted by gasband:learn your fingerings with a classical guitar - go buy cheap guitars at places like Cristofori or there is a shop on the 3rd floor of Penisula, or a shop called Ranking Sports in Bras Brasah can get classical below $100. Lousy guitars, unknown brands, Purely for learning the fingerings.
Then after that ah, to learn width for variety, classical cannot give u that, a folk guitar would be good enuff for home practice. For that, you can try CORT which is a way under rated guitar in Singapore. You can find them at Luther in Ginza Plaza. $200-$300 should net u a low end CORT. Personally, I find Yamaha guitars sucky, so dun buy them.
follow the trend my friend. explaining to beginners now.Originally posted by Ytsejam:Sorry to sound rude, but i believe it is incorrect to refer to an accoustic guitar as a "folk" guitar. There is no such thing as a "folk guitar". Folk is just a genre of music that was established in the late 60's. And since the signature of the music was mainly accoustic, therefore many non-musicians started labelling guitars that were non-amplified with steel strings as "folk" guitars for lack of proper knowledge.
just my two cents.
