Hello everyone,
I hope those experience motorbike seller can advise me if I want to sell my bike to another person ( not to motorbike shop )
1 ) What is the procedures ? Other than logcard and insurance, what else do i need to do ?
2 ) For log card, I understand that I have to go LTA to perform the transfer. What do i need to bring along if selling to another party ?
3 ) For insurance, what should i do if it is still more than 8 mth ? I heard I can get the refund from the insurance company.
4 ) I have a NCB of 20%. If I purchase a new bike and sell my bike later, can I still have the NCB of 20% ? Is it ok if I change to another insurance company ?
5 ) What other things I have to take note of when selling ?
Any other advise will greatly be appreciated.
y get a better price if u sell it to another person ... normally bike shop buys yr bike like 2k and sell it for 3 k .... imagine the diff ...
u need to go to lta for a name transfer ... u can find out the cost .. which is normally paid by the buyer ... on onemotoring.com.sg .... u can go to yr insurance company to get the remaining insurance ... they will sent u a check ... u need yr original log card .. and ID .. and the ID of the buyer ... its a really simple procudure .... take abt 30 mins or so depending on the quene .. u need to fill a form which u can get at the info counter... u still have yr NCD .. but if u refund yr insurance u may lose the addition 1 year NCD of this current insurance ... means u have 20% now .. u can get another 5% after one year more .. so if u dun refund u get 25% ... if u refund u still stays 20% .. so u do the maths .. is the remaining 4 mths worth the addition 5% ... nothing much to take note when selling .. just check to see if yr are been offer a good price .. and how much is the market price at the shops .. just ride down and let shop view ... normally they give u shit .. but maybe a better price when u trade in yr bike for another bike .. but they would have made a profit from the sale of the new bike to u ... hehehheee the best is to forget bike shops ... sell yr bike to buyers .. and buy yr bikes from sellers ....
