it definitely consume more petrol.. vtec allows more fuel intake to increase the power.. vtec's main purpose is to let you ride the bike as normal(cruising usually at lower RPM).. but provides you the extra power when you need it(high RPM lohz)..Originally posted by kopiosatu:Someone educate me k??
When VTEC is activated... 2 valve opens to 4 valve...
So to some people (including me), i keep thinking its DOUBLE the fuel consumption...
But today, someone i knew told me that when he bought his Honda (Car), he bought one with VTEC engine, because he travels to malaysia often and goes fast on the highway.
He said that fuel consumption is lower if VTEC is activated.
I was told that it is smoother when the power kicks in...
paiseh ah, my Super 4 still running in... so VTEC haven't activate yet...
So my question once again is... does activating VTEC help u save fuel?
