cnt blame the manufacturers.... many riders in sg do not knw how to maintain their drive chain. u mus not oni constanly lube the chain but n=mus also periodically clean the chain b4 lubing or nt ull jus b greasing the dirt....Originally posted by cookiesol:fyi, i happen to come across a few Ta200s who has this problem.
after checking, going thru the bike, taking it apart, lots of advice from mechs, etc etc....
we finally came out with a conclusion.... and that is....
MANFUCTURING FAULT. some of our bikes do not have this problem even after we thrash it ard. so i guess lucky matters?

yah u mean x|ao_p??Originally posted by cookiesol:sorry for being offtopic but ur nick sounds awfully familiar...
anyway, clutch control affecting the lifespan of the chain is a definate.
clutch controls the amount of wheel spin and how u drag gears
together with the throttle.
u can also say clutch control affects the spockets as well then?
... nvm, i noe why liaozOriginally posted by xiao_p:yah u mean x|ao_p??
wat kind of additive do you useOriginally posted by SpiderCool:Just like to contribute some.
First I've riding my TA200 for nearly a year without much mishap, except skipped off the road due to the original damn lousy IRC tires (got it changed soon after that)
All bike chain needs constant lubricating due to Singapore wet / dry weather and proper monmitoring of it tension. Too tight a chain is not suitable for pillion as it needs to stretch more.
Don't throw clutch while shifting gear, this will cause the bike to jerk and to cause unnecessary tension on the chain. I always change gear, throttle abit before slowly letting the clutch go. Hehe..., my chain has never been adjusted since I bought the bike. But regular engine servicing is a must.
Then coming to the famous phantom sound....I got it smoothen out by pouring in engine additive. now the bike is smooth and quiet. I can tell the diff when riding next to a phanton on the road.
Well, always take care the bike well and the bike will take care of you while you are on it.
Happy riding!
