Brake Oil & Engine Oil

hi, juz found out yest tat my brake oil is running dry.. izt ok n safe to ride with it.. Dun really have time to go top up my brake oil due to my working schedule.. wat is e effect of having a dry brake oil, can i still brake n ride as normal.. Also izt free to top up e brake oil from e garage when servicing if not roughly hw much it cost.. Secondly, my engine oil is always using esso gold, izt ok or do i have to get really gd engine oil such as castrol.. me also quite long no change engine oil liao, think already going to 3000km le...

Your braking power will be decreased. Should be okay lah... most of the time I use Esso silver, and change every 3000km. -

brake oil will usually not run dry. if its does tt mite means there is a leak somewhr in the pump system or the hoses. Brake fluid is normally clear in color and wil turn darker over time. once the brake fluid is too dark to look thru, its time to change the oil.
sometimes if u look into the master pump window and c the fluid level drop, its also a sign tt the brake pads are worn out. as the pump cylinder move out of the brake to compensate for the worn pads the level of oil will drop. but once u get the pads replaced and the cylinders are puched back intot he pump. the oil leverl will rise once again. -

see the master pump on yr handle bar. theres a small window? c the fluid inside?
luk on yr right near yr footrest. c a white container? is it full? -
I think most bike shops help u to top it up free if you service ur bike there ...
Esso Gold already one of the top range liao mah ... isn't it? Though I most of the time use Castrol ...
Another way to see brake pads is to look at the grooves of the brake pads ... if u cannot see the grooves anymore or it is getting real thin in depth ... it is time to change .... however, not all brake pads can see the groove ... depending on which ones u use .... -

i using esso gold also atm, but will be changing to semi syn, motul, coz heard 'bike above 3 yrs can start to use semi syn ooil soas to protect wear n tear inside engine parts -

can check with u guys, roughly how long u guys normally change ur brake pad?? Sometimes i also dunno brake pad can tahan how long, coz also dunno how to check hehe..
