Yes shouldn't drag it too much .... different bikes got differents limits but normally u should just go till 4-5 rpm then change gear. During running-in, it is also good that u change ur gears all the time ... i.e. from first to 6 ... then drop back to one, etc. Travelling on expressway would be a bad idea ....Originally posted by j007:is it true tt when a new bike, has yet to 'run in' we shld not drag the gear too much is it?
why so travelling on the e-way is a bad idea?Originally posted by PuRe-EviL:Yes shouldn't drag it too much .... different bikes got differents limits but normally u should just go till 4-5 rpm then change gear. it is because if you run on expressway, the speed is one thing. normally whem running in, speed dun exceed 80km/h. Then also, you dun have the chance to change gear back and forth, it's like running on gear 5 all the way until the other end of expressway lor. very bad for bike when running inOriginally posted by j007:why so travelling on the e-way is a bad idea?

Can ask mechanic check for you. Normally I check by looking at the grooves. Something like checking the grooves of your tyre, no more groove, time to change brake pads.Originally posted by j007:all joints- lubricate with wd40??
brake pads, how to check?
roughly how long we change the brake pads??Originally posted by PuRe-EviL:Can ask mechanic check for you. Normally I check by looking at the grooves. Something like checking the grooves of your tyre, no more groove, time to change brake pads.

however i work in the west and residence in the north, and therefore the only and conveneint way is that i take the eway to work, however usually i try to maintain 70-80km....
will this leads to the damage of the bike? or more wear and tear for the gears??
Originally posted by j007:also i would like to know the exhaust piping of the bike...
is it true tt after a period of time, discolouration and rust will eat in even if u keep the external well polished and cleaned??
anyway we can minimise this wear and tear?
