  Anyone can share how u pple maintain ur phantom and how frequent u pple go tat?

  for ur TA200,
  
  check engine oil level every 2 weeks
  change engine oil every 3000km
  change spark plug every 2nd oil change wil do

  spark plug must buy ourself hoh? can change ourself anot? or must go bike shop ask him to change?

  can change urself but personally since i change spark plug ard the time of an engine oil change, might as well i buy i ask the mech do on the spot.
  
  i used to change spark plug every 2 oil change, now i trying to see if can last 9000 so i can do everything one shot wif my 9000 servicing. i hit 7000 wif the same plug so far no prob.

  for ta150 wat 9000 servicing must do? manual say donno the air filter sponge soak in petrol and wash donno wat gasket, i onli ever sent my ta150 for 90000 servicing once, and i realli donno wat to do, i give bike to my mech say i want full servicing and decarbonize, he take do donno wat next day for servicing charge me $30. of coz got some more charges for stuff he replaced, but those extras i believe coz he show me, plus i changed oil and plug.
  
  problem is, i donno wat must do, i donno wat he do, and i donno wat he never do. izzit most mechs, assuming never fake you, just tell them full service they will know wat to do?
  
  wat stuff better to tell them? wash gasket? wash air filter? decarbonize? i just worried got some maintenance thing they never do for me.

  depends on the charactor of tat mech liao....but if got friend intro u to gd mech should haf no prob..still they got an image to maintain so as to gain customer mah.

  basically i classify servicing into 2 types: minor and major
  
  minor servicing includes the washing of carb, air filter, changing of gear oil, spark plug
  
  major servicing includes the washing of engine block, piston head, piston rings, power valve, changing of coolant
  
  for my case, i do minor servicing quarterly and do major servicing annually...

  thanx, but dun mind can convert ur 'quarterly' and 'anually' in terms of mileage? i the kind every 3000 go mech for oil change, like i said i sent my bike for my definition of 'full service' and from your description he did wat u call 'major'. according to my pattern i due for 9000 servicing in 2000km time, since he charge $30++ for ur 'major', i think i'll stick to that every 9000.
  
  but thanx for the terms, at least i noe now wat to ask for and wont miss out any servicing component.
  
  oh btw, is decarbonising important?

  no need so fast change oil if u using fully synthetic one, as long as ur neutral can kick easily, spark plug same, dun have to change so fast.....as long can start the bike w/o hassle can oredi....
  i change it about 5000-6000km (3 months)
  as for the full service, i do it every year, about 18000-20000km
  
  u can oso decarbonise ur pipe too, meanwhile tell the mech to take out the metal tube with alot of small holes, which is inside ur pipe belly... tats the power restrictor i tink... after i done tat, i feel more torque.... for eg.. when goin up slope at 6th gear 80, u can stil maintain abit more throttle n the speed doesnt go down like it used to....

  u sure ur 'full servicing' only costs $30++? tats very cheap leh..
  cos i need to re-adjust my valve... now my bike very difficult to ride, n mileage onli
  16km per L !!!!!!!!

  thanx for the advice, but even my dad told me change oil evry 3000, max 5000, so i'll stick to that. as it is, i onli ride short dist to and fro skul, one month onli bout 1000, so evry 3 months i replace the castrol $12.50 oil i think not too strain on my pocket. and plug now i change evry 9000.

  eh this is good, but izzit 'illegal'? i due for vicom by march, and of coz anually, will doing this pass inspection or suay suay kena rov? i veri interested but to me any derestriction is not worth any little bit of trouble wif the law.

  like i said, i realli donno wat my mech did, all i can say is the service charge was $30++. i dowan to commit myself and say yes definitely that major servicing is only $30++. he did mention washing piston ring and gasket and wash donno wat else. must tell u, he charged extra for stuff like topping up coolant, he oso charged me for replacing piston ring and stuff.
  
  i can onli suggest u go there and ask to find out ur self. its along upper bukit timah road, just before it turned into woodlands road at ten mile junction, opposite esso. i mentioned before in singaporebikes forum, the mechs there veri frenly, just that u get a little feeling they fake u a little, prices are average and i've been to that mech all the time.

  mechwira. wanted to stick to Ducati996 but someone down there used ducati999 so didn wanna confuse.
  
  i kind of prefer singaporebikes coz more technical and objective ppl. its more 'chatty' here, nice too, but cant stand how easily ppl here start flaming and quarelling, sometimes a bit childish.
