Road condition in PIE every morning

I post this topic to see if anyone has any experience in travel through PIE range from 7 to 7.30. The traffic is very congested, like to hear your views on how to make your way through the congestion in the shortest and faster way.

i travel from changi to simlim every mon - fri.
the traffic there is hell, but it's nothing compared to CTE at 6pm.
on mondays, i'll take the ECP, coz i get off work at 7am, can reach suntec within 15-20 mins if you take the ECP. (provided you do a little MINOR speeding along a certain VERY LONG road)
the rest of the days i'll take PIE, exit through kallang bahru and go all the way straight thru to lavender, skipping the ERP at pie bendemeer exit. i dunno why so many ppl still exit via that route, kallang bahru isn't exactly faster, but at least there's no ERP, and you can turn right to bendemeer rd wifout passing through any ERP gantries,
then later i just park at sim lim tower, walk to school, then later during break at 10.30am then go ride my bike back to school. like this everyday save $1.50 ERP $$$
actually the main reason i go to all these trouble is becoz i took out my IU last nov then i lazy to connect back, nvm lah at least can save $$

i everyday travel by PIE to work at about 7.40am. i just ride in between lane lor.

What if it is a rainy day, heard it is quite dangerous to ride in between lanes as the white paint will become very slippery. So what do most of you people do on rainy days to squeeze in between traffic?

i ride to work every morning at about 830 - 850 thru PIE bedok reserv to kallang bahru
sumtimes quite congested though
i always ride btw the extreme right lane n second right lane at about 80-100...
as for rainy days, jus ride slower, as for slipperiness, i dun tink it wil be tat dangerous if u dun speed, n weave ur way around traffic, jus goin straight on the white paint wun make u skid everytime la...jus be abit more careful during rainy day.....i usually ride less than 80 on a congested rainy day on a expressway.... kia si eh.... hehe -
but what if ur using irc tyres? very slippery, it's best to stick to ur own lane.

Oei LHK, rainy days then don't squeeze traffic. Car can't even see clearly already as mirror all wet. Later you squeeze then the driver suddenlty change lane how? but seriously, for bike if u dun dare squeeze in the morn during the regular standstill, better u either go super early before 7 or after 9. else, that peak period cars are not moving, u bike u stick to ur lane and together dun move a bit stupid. for me, i rarely squeeze, even slow but packed traffic moving 50kmh, the kind cars no chance to change lane, i still will stick to my lane. but that PIE morn jam (i enter KJE then into PIE btw, just as packed though not such a long stretch), cars are not moving, better to squeeze.
for me, usually i follow some biker and squeeze, keeping about 1 bike distance from him. best not to keep too close, that kind of riding u jam brake often so must be careful in case the front rider jam his brake. but oso no good keep too far coz some biker behind u will feel itchy try overtake u within that same bloody narrow space, dam danger. of coz if u scared scared and go slow, got biker/bikers behind u getting impatient, occasionally got opening quickly go inside the lane and let them pass, then re-enter the 'bike lane' .
careful and try not go beyond 3rd gear, the fastest i go when i squeeze like dat is dragging my 3rd gear, best to have engine brake on call the minute u open throttle, right hand and foot always standby the brakes, pay absolute attention to front with minimal to rear, alert for cars left and right swerve out to change lanes. and dun be 'shy' to slow down when approaching tight squeeze, especially if its a truck.
btw, better not use shoulder, sometimes TP ambush. and personally i rather not overtake front bike when squeezing, dam danger.

Don' squeeze sure late 1. I always try to follow behind some S4 or uncle as they old bird on the road liao, but some uncle ride around 40km in between the outer right and center lane leh, force u to find chance to overtake, if not sure late for work .

best method is to follow a 'FAST' bike in front, so that he 'CLEAR' the way for u.... but stil must be careful leh.. i try not to be the 1st bike to be in front at all times..... let others be the scapegoat lor haha -
some uncles? it seems to me almost all uncles like dat! mebbe they buang until dowan to go fast squeezing. the fastest ones are late twenties-early thirties riders, quick and safe. younger than dat tend to go too fast for safety sake, macam want to show me they more terror than me. but at least most uncles tend to go inside lane when got chance to give way to riders behind him.Originally posted by Strife:Don' squeeze sure late 1. but the worst are the msian honda cubs. never go fast, never go slow, but suddenly will appear beside me within that narrow space happily overtaking me as if no other vehicle around. seriously, anytime of day, i notice the msian cubs ride as if theres no other vehicle around them, they always somehow find a way maintain constant speed all the way, and always will appear very suddenly beside me wan. at least i see most local riders, even those who pattern weave in and out of traffic, will still look out for other fellow riders, and no matter how danger i see them ride, i rarely feel endangered myself by them. the m'sian cubs always scare me, all of a sudden one loud high pitched engine 'prr-eeeeennnngggggg' go past me very very near my bike. and why they always like to ride wif right hand onli and left hand behind the back ah? stunt riding? -
today got 1 uncle riding vespa suei-ing chia between 1 n 2 on PIE. eh... no.. shld say is chia suei-ing this vespa uncle....
he going like 30-40 nia... even cars oso go faster than him ah. knn... late for sk00l liao still like that waste my time -

Juz now on PIE when coming to work travelling at around 100 to 110km, saw a tp at the road shoulder, quickly slow down to 90km. Funny, dunno why weekdays no tp when traffic is bad and sat they come to see smooth traffic?
