Using front tires on the rear wheel of SP?

  Need some advice here!
  
  went to a Moto tiam to change my SP tires. De boss recommended me some Bridgestone Battlx tires. De front tires were de standard BT 39F tyres.
  
  De rear tyre was oso Battlx (something like BT-5*F, i forgot what de * was). I asked why he was using a front tyre for de rear (F=front i think). He told me it was normal n every1 was doin' it since Bridgestone dun normally manufacture small rear tyres for small bikes.
  
  So izit true dat those F(front) tyres can be used for de rear wheel?

  u went to bt merah's motodiam? i'm using a front tire fer my rear too, battlax bt090. many old birds here says its dangerous, i experience a lot of times when my bike skidded when it was raining..

  Aye, dats rite, its Bukit Merah's!
  
  How ya noe, all de shops there oso recommend Front tyres to be used at de rear?
  
  But is there any true Battlx tyres for small cc bikes like SP?

  heheh...wonder if he's de only one recommendin' front tyres for rear. De dimensions are de same as IRCs except have a lower profile.
  
  But i think it will allow de bike 2 run faster n save more petrol since its a bit more oval. But the bike will really lean when cornerin'.

  ermm....i think i also got see rxz or tzm and some other 2b bikes also use the same method as front wheel for rear also ....is it safe? or is it cheaper?? think before u do anything ....ride slow,stay clear be alive on the road.

  from wat i noe, smaller area of contact means faster speed n more fuel efficiency.
  
  of coz, de negative effect is dat its less stable i think. (will need de xperts here 2 confirm)

  front tyre n rear tyre each are designed for different purpose.

  Yup.... why not try bt39ss for rear? I'm using it.... so far the rear never skid unless i jam brake.... only got 1 time lose grip behind cos its raining and i was on the e-way there, the metal strip make me lose grip for split second and then grip back again....

  smaller tyre got less contact on straight rd but more contact when cornering?? izit wad u wanted to sae,i thinks its true

  i think u can ask for BT96 they got rear size for sp,if not u can get 130 for rear,its not realli dat big after fixing.i used it last time on my sp,n it grips very well.

  How much did u guys pay for d tyres hah? I was thinking of changing also... maybe after hari raya got money oredi, wanna spruce up my bike.... nways, where can i get d best price for d tyres?

  i dun think its de size of de tyre dat determines de contact when cornering but rather, the Curvature. A more rounded tyre (as in bicycle) gives more area when cornering while a flatter one (like a car's) gives less area during banking.

  will cost ard $150 - $200++ (for SP) for front n back, dependin' on wat stuff ya want.

  lets take V and O ask a tyre Exaple which 1 got more contact on a straight rd? and imagine which 1 contact more when u r leaning???

  take a look at this thread. And especially at the last page's posting. It will explain why a V shaped profile tyre will be better than putting oversize tyre to get the O shaped profile.
