Wat is Documentation fee?

transfer of a bike owner's name carries a fee which can be checked from the net thru LTA.
eg. $80 for ownership transfer
however need to produce original log card... which is kept by the shop which i pay installments to. meaning transfer of names must go thru them.
But the shop is charging $150 documentation fee, which excludes the transfee for LTA
means de total amount is $230 just to change owner. WAT THE F_CK MAN! Am i over reacting or does anyone else here feel the same way as i do? wat can i do abt it? -
A fee often charged by a lessor to cover the cost of preparing lease documents..........a standard part of the automobile business and you are required to pay (Although you can certainly try to negotiate the fee. )

there is no such thing as documentation fee.

hi ricky ! i dun think there is any documentation fee charge . only those black shop will do this for extra pocket money. which shop is it huh? i bought my SP just pay the deposit and insur. that's it liao. -

u need log card and make the new bike insurance under ur name in order to do transfer of ownership

would like to ask.. my insurance expiring soon.. my bike currently still under installment.. does that means i have to go to the motor shop where i bought the bike and ask them to renew for me.. since they were holding the original log card..
