change the reeds, reeds valve, flywheel, airfilter, remove the 2t pump and reservoir, "clean" pro-circuit, sprocket and finally a good jetting, the wr can beat the ktm outright (exclude the first gear) anyway depends on the rider also hehOriginally posted by operator:I don't think so. wr is far too heavy. Have tried n proven personally with numerous KTMs(both EGS N EXC) n WRs OTR n on trails n all i can say is tt GasGas was never inferior to any of these bikes on stock. Even managed to beat my friend's EXC wif FMF stomach n Shorty pipe in a drag race.
This is 1 of very few Scrams tt can maintain a 150Km/H for a long period of time. -

and
FQ wr -> 5k+ to even 6k+
FP wr -> 4k+
these are some of the prices i noted in the classifieds. the fs exc is the price i took from the 1 selling in this forum sell $2K + COI $168.7 X18 mths.
instead i dun really understand how come wr sell so expensive???? it's such a old bike liao yet can sell 3k+ to 5k+. itzit becos it has the value or the posters over-quote and we can actually bargain down alot? at this kind of prices, it would be more attractive for me to get ktm in my opinion. for that kind of price, can get performance and the parts are good....'or-lin' shocks, keihin carbs, nah, nah, nah. basically no need to mod already cos' the parts are gear for performance. although some ppl might say fuel consumption is high, but then in the first place if they want milleage, they should get road bikes, not off-roaders.
heh. in fact the milleage of the ktm is around the same of the 1.6L car that my dad drives. ~$8-$10 per100km
