Ducati announced that Ruben Xaus has been signed to ride on the Ducati World Superbike team in 2003 along side Neil Hodgson. Incidentally, the inclusion of Xaus means that Colin Edwards is almost assured of riding in the MotoGP series in 2003.
Edwards had signed a letter of intent to ride with Ducati in the WSB series; however the contract had an option which makes the agreement null and void if he received an opportunity to ride in MotoGP.
According to rumors Edwards is mulling options which would have him on a factory Yamaha M1 and partnering with Carlos Checa. The second option is to ride a Honda RC211V on the Pramac team alongside Max Biaggi. The final option is to ride a RC211V on the Gresini Honda team

The Colin Edwards rumor mill has hit red line with the report that Aprilia is ready to sign the two-time World Superbike Champion to a two-year $6 million deal to ride in the MotoGP series.
The deal for Edwards hinges upon the possibility of a tire deal with Michelin, a partnership which seems likely considering the Texan has been a tester for the French company for some time.
If the deal does go through the Aprilia team would be comprised of Regis Laconi and Edwards, who would pilot the Cube next year in the 2003 MotoGP contest.
