Hello, i just got my 2B...*finally* ,
And gonna get varadero 125 (i read some of the comments about the bike) and well now cannot change lah) already paid the downpayment) anyway
im getting it from Mah, $9.5K (very expensive)
but i really like it (wil be quite siong for 2 years lah to pay for it)
i thinking with this bike (its more safer ...i hope compared to the sports bike) as im a new rider...
so any one got comments on this or any advise to giv for new riders?
appreciate any comments..
and anyone know good place to buy protective jacket ? -

Since you are riding minidero, noting much to advise u on. U wanna speed also hard...
its tall, so the fall (choi*) would be from a higher height and a proper thick and good jacket would give u the MINIMUM protection.
Rem: you are only as safe as the most dangerous commutors ard you. Practice defensive riding. -

What i can remember the BBDC instructor were saying is, Look far, be aware of the oncoming traffic, anticipate moves done by the other drivers...

if u see in ur mirror that a vehicle is near ur backside, pls ACCELERATE AWAY... or if u not fast enuff, accelerate to a point where u can change lane to let dat speedster overtake u...

True lah, the bike expensive but, the beauty of this bike is it size and i gues ssince im a new rider, im quite a sucker for big bikes lah, altho so many people who do not ride the varadero125 are complaining that it has no power but ehh me new rider ley, dont know anything abotu bike, wah lau to me huh

OK if you want to know why i consider this bike (bec i really like scramblers and road bikes) and then i saw african twin!! wah i very suah koo one ... but its 750cc so out of my league then i heard of this varadero 125 which is also a 'Enduro class bike
which is a mix breed (road bike + scrambler) well maybe its not lah but it loks liek that to me any way..
so in case ur wondering, that why lah i got it.. i tried NSR and KIPS and Phantom (sit on the bike) and theya re very low lah but varadero seems very comfortable..
anyway thats how i feel
i sould get the bike tommorow (wed) hopefully then ill tell you all lah about it -
Varadero 125 is a gd bike..
provided u got the cash to spare for a NEW 2B bike, def not goin to sell it off in 1 yr, the prices sure wil depreciate for a rare machine on the rds.
From i wat i know,
u dun get the pickup, top ends u expect from trail bikes, but u wat u get is MILEAGE, SMOOTHNESS, n lastly MILEAGE!!!
more than 17L of fuel for a 125cc 4STROKER, it sure does wonders when intend to travel for long distances up north... -

remember the golden rule: they can't hit you if you're not there..
always find your own safety space... don't take a corner or sweeper between 2 vehicles, unless you're confident you can clear it.. oh yes yes.. do visit paul chow of trail culture.. i believe he has some tricks up his sleeves to improve the power output of the bike. not that much, but every little bit helps yeah??
are you.... thinking about... ACCESSORIES now? belly pan? taller windscreen? after-market handlebars and exhaust pipe? boy if only they made the same crashbars for your bike, as the varadero 1000's... i think it'll look great... -

hey you know what, this bike its really burning a hole in my pants (and i have not even gotten the bike yet..waiting and waiting.. the people at MAK bloody taking theor own sweet time!!!) , i guess after this, i cant buy anything, got to start saving again as my saving is reading the "Empty" mark ... the only reason im gettin the bike bec im so obsessed with african twin, so since cant get that i HAVE to get this, even if i go broke ....

wheres the shop, thats sounds really interesting, at current there are only 2 things that i really wanna get,
1) the "wind guard " for the handle bar (i dont know if thats the name)
2) main stand....
hope they have that ...
and crash guard (would be cool if they had for the minivaradero)

er... paul's shop is along macpherson road, i don't have the exact address, only know how to go there la... er... you could try call him at 6547 4454, or ask your scram friends...
yeah the mainstand would be a good buy... i would suggest a windscreen first la... better air-protection... eh.. in singapore's climate, don't think the wind is likely to turn your hands numb with cold... but it would help to get less wind in the face... -

Last time a frend of mine had some problem when he when to buy His dream bike dat was a sp
, 1st hand somemore he pay 3k up front , de rest continue on installment , suppose to get bike in 4 days time , but he when down they say no ready n damn nv even call him to say , must come back 2 days time to collect , den when collect ride home , check de rim there got scratch , de tyer got one small cut but not deep one lar , he damn piss of , when down c.a.s.e within few days de shop owner , call him up ask him come down den change his tyer , n spray his rim some more both rim in de colour of his choice :> in de end got bike back in 2 days time for waiting for dis spray stuffs , but nvm worth it
