  Actually with or without a chain guard when your chain snap...you will be in danger( esp if u are going at high speed into a corner). The chain guard is technically to prevent object being injested into the chain accidently. Why i say technically is becos i think many bike chain guard design don't do much except to comform to various country vechicle import requirements(ie the need for a chain guard).

  haha.. i don't think so.. if that's the case, where isn't there any chain guard on the bottom side of the chain, where it's MORE LIKELY to collect dirt/debris thrown up on the road.
  
  wouldn't.... protecting the pillion's feet from horrifying accidents be more likely?
