TS tread state that most of the accidents caused are from bikes,so ban bikes for a better 2morrow which is not the case....Car drivers are the 1 that cause most of it,like drunk driving,Cars suddenly stop in front of ERP that cause accident which happened in the early part of the year....The famous Lee case of drunk driving......All are cause by car....maybe they shd implement motorbike lane,car lane,heavy vechicle lane.....
Cos as riders are more vulnerable,they will be MORE carefull in safety as compared to their driver counterparts that feel safer in their car and hence being complacent in their safety checks. -

Bikers are not necessarily dangerous and Drivers are not necessarily safe. It all depends on how the person interact with his vehicle.
A reckless person, regardless of handling a car or a motorcycle will definetly end up commiting speeding, reckless overtaking and several other offences that are enough to make your licence spin. While a safe driver will stay within the limits of law.
Isn't this clear? haven't most drivers and motorists encounted reckless vehicle operators?
I myself is a motorcycle fanatic,despite objections from relatives, I obatained my class 2b licence just half a year ago, riding on a honda phantom 200 but I always stay within the limits though I may speed at times. I could have got into accidents several times but not because of my negligence that have caused it but other factor contributions as well.
Like what the reports said, most of the motorcycle accidents involved riders on probation but that does not mean that they are dangerous riders, perhaps hesitant to make a turn or a last minute decision to turn into a lane that could have caused all these accidents, basically new drivers don't have much of understanding and knowledge of expressways and roads of Singapore. Lastly, the reports DO NOT mention who caused the accident, the rider or the driver.
Motor cars, on the other hand can be dangerous on the road because of selfish people who thinks they are above the law. I have encounted some drivers who thinks that motorist are not allowed on lanes and nearly knock me off it. The only difference could be that the driver is protected by the metallic shell of the car and the rider is covering the bike with his body.
I have to admit, some of the motorist on the road are reckless and posed a serious problem to others but that doesn't mean that it applies to all. Don't stereotype please!
In a nutshell, we are all road commuters, why not show some respect to other road commuters and live peacefully? Showing prejudice is a sign of being narrow minded, not everyone can offered a car and people always have different likings and taste. Its all about mentality my friend. -
