can any1 advise me if my chain needs to b washed or clean?cause i always spray the lube on it oni leh.do i need to wash off the thick grease n relube again?thanx 4 any help given...

its best u warm up the chain and lube it after a long distance. so that the heat will make the lube "dry" onto the chain. You dun really need to wash although some uses WT40 to clean their chain. my first chain 'maintenance' was just spraying chain oil. it is very unsightly as all the collected dirt etc was still on and my rear wheel on chain side becomes very dirty after a ride.
so now i use a rag, spray some oil onto the chain, wipe off the dirt, spray more oil and wipe off excess. quite shag but the result:
clean chain+clean wheel=happy me.

For me leh, I still would wash my chain then grease it again. Singapore just too dusty and too many cars, just one week, all the dirt, grime, sh*t, and all that crap gets onto the chain. So I clean and grease quite often, alot of work but sure worth it, runs better and chain can tahan longer too!
