Another One Bites The Dust

I just got back from sending my gf home... was doing my usual rubber burning along south buona vista rd when the road in front lit up with the head lights of an oncoming vehicle so i slowed down...the van passed me very slowly. Then in front at the bus stop (the one with the staircase leading down) I saw a bunch of bikes parked together by the road side and a lot of people (the bikers I suppose) were standing at the bus stop doing don't know what...
Then after I passed them, I passed a police car... and then an ambulance both heading in their direction.
I just hope whatever happen didn't involve anybody from this forum.
That road is a very dangerous road. And everybody should be warned that if they are not familiar with the road, don't push the limits. Take it slow. Trying to show off might very well kill you. If you really want to play, do the road several times, don't cheong all the way the first time. This is not the first time I've seen an accident there. Hell I've even seen a car overturned into the drain few weeks back... and the uprooted railings are still there.... -

When I drive my car/ my friends' cars down 99 turns and take it to the limit tyres screeching and all I get a real rush.
Compared to doing it on a bike is the feeling 'nothing' ??? -

Bike = Human cover metal
Therefore the diff is:
1.) Pressure, becoz of the wind
2.) Excitement/Danger, as ur feet is few cms off the ground
3.) 4 wheels, ur vision and body are seated with belts and straight
VS
2 wheels, ur body is at a steep angle, head tilted no seat belts
But in the end i still wanna say.... ur life is much more worthwhile... -
On 12 Aug 02 at about 1700hrs, while I was busy fixing some hydraulic pipings on the Almond vehicle, I received a message from my friend from Sungei Gedong Camp. He told me Gan died on Saturday in JB after he skidded during a corner and hit his neck on the kerb or railing. He died en route to hospital.
Gan has been a very gutsy but reckless rider on the road. I've encouraged him to go to track but he didn't seemed interested. Advices always sound so harsh and offensive yet they helps.
A reminder to all riders reading this post. Even though JB is out of SG TP power, we're still subjected to perils on the road. And it's more hazardous in the dimly lit JB with many unkwown potholes on the ground. So please ride safely. If you want to play, I strongly encourage you to join the tracksters and have an enjoyable day on the track. It proved track worths the trip.
