Riders and Bikers - there is a diff btwn e 2.. which 1 r u?

so are u a rider? or a biker? and do u agree that there is a difference between "Riders" and "Bikers"
i think there is... and maybe i can see what other ppl think about this... coz i might be prejudiced... coz i ride a sportsbike

a biker doesn't necessarily have to ride a sportsbike.
every bike has it's passion. as much as i dislike, uh no hate
, scramblers and vespas, they have a following of their own. be it for riding or biking.
a rider rides. that simple.
but a biker should be classified as 1 who loves his bike (not necessarily others) to give it more than the necessary attention required. and the biker can also be a rider, depending on the amount of bikes he has. -

i am crazy man for bikes,,,,,,at one time,,,,,i own a aprilia,hexagon,rvf and lao k,,,,,,,maybe i not stable abt mental health for bikes,,,,,hahahahhaahah,,,,even my g/f say i take care of biikes is better then taking care of her,,,,,but when she say tis,,,,,i will feel,,,,,,ya hor,,,,,,hahahaahahhahaa

Erm.... Personally I think the term "Rider" is refered by those girls who think that guys on bikes are like taxi drivers. They treat them as a Rider.... Instead of Biker.... <<< Thatz what I think lor.....

i tink i m a biker, cos i dun treat my bike as a transport machine
i treat it like my wife, sayang it everyday. always eager to make it look nice n perform well....
i tink riders r ppl who treat their bike as transport machines, jus ordinary ppl who rides bike becos of economical n convenient. Whereas a true hardcore biker rides a bike becos of its passion, love of being on 2 wheels......!!! hope i m rite -
i think where a BIKER is concerned... the bike is very very important... as in how the bike looks how fast the bike can go.. how much miledge the bike does wif a tankful and etc.... the emphasis is on the bikes performance...
whereas a RIDER is one who is concerned about his own riding skills, someone who wants to know how far he can stretch his limits, someone who is never satisfied with just commuting, and rides a bike as an extension of his character...
bikers arent interested in learning how to bring out the most of their bikes through the ride... they just worry about the machine rather than themselves and their skills...
i believe to be a rider, the good parts of being a biker are also within u... where u dedicate time in making ur machine performing better... and then go out and test the difference and make lots of feedback about the changes... and also finding out about the latest in bike technology and etc...
end of the day, birds of a feather flock together... the riders will find their way to other riders, and the bikers well... they will ride harleys ehehehhehehehehe
like one of my friends always say... ride sportsbikes for 10years.. u will learn kneedown cornering, hard braking, race lines, bike technology, stunts, throttle control, track experience, long distance rides, proper riding gear education, different riding behaviour for different weather, tires selection and gearing.. lots more stuff....
ride harleys for 10 years... u learn how to polish polish polish polish and polish

These are just different names for the same idea. It is just like your name is John Tan Yi Ming. Some ppl call u John and some call u Yi Ming.
So u guys get my point? Dun tell me some ppl call u John becoz they think u are much of a English guy ? or call u Yi Ming becoz they think u are much of a Chinese guy? -

Riders are into the ride.........bikers are basically a commuter on a bike. Bikers could be a bike enthusiast too but not so much on the ride,,,,just the bike.
RIDERS to me, will wana learn all he can and pays emphasis on the ride....they may not be bike enhusiast but they concern bout the ride.
so how do u know if u r a rider or biker?
Simple test below :-
if u and your fellow frens gathered and never really talkbout the bike or the ride, i.e corners, speed, tyre wear, suspension set-up, gearing, handling...but instead...movies, kopi tius, pillion which ger later/earlier, condemn a stunt, bad mouth those who ride well, very likely u fall into the category of a BIKER.

But how a bike is going to be riden or used for or being taken care of depends on that Rider. How many kind of Riders are there outside.... from what i SEEN there are only three kind. Which leads to 1) Riders with pride. (This group of pple have pride in their bikes, and have pride in their riding styles, their pride of being a rider. 2) Riders who Pose ( which i call them poser>>> they can take good care of their bike, maybe very clean and tip top but end of the day it's still a"TRANSPORT BIKE" ) 3) Riders who ride for the sake of knowing more friends and getting more girls. <<
