BMW Motorcycles... abit boring arent they? sort of bike ex police riders buy, or 40yr old uncles who dont know any better..
come'on own up... i'd bet this or similar thoughts have crossed your mind at least once..

its not that in some sort of elitist way we look down on pple who dont ride in the same maniac style all of the time...
Far from it... every bum on a bike, is another person who doesnt drive a car as we are concerned .. and we have long been the supporters of more utilitarian mounts such as scooters or "kupkias" so we can hardly be accused of being narrow minded. 
NO.. what we object to is not the 50 year old on a rxz.. or harley, or even those who ride super4s to and from work... or like that 50+ year old guy we know who likes to ride his harley up to thailand coz of the scenary...

in our opinion.. its far more worthy to buy a BMW and cruise around the world on it than to buy an R1 and cruise bolt upright on it to mhd sultan or bencoolen st or marina sq... and most of the time having a pillion on it and trying to race wif smaller bikes on expressways or trafficlights...
so do u own a sports bike.. and just because of that think that u are very capable and very fast?? -
there are some truth in posts, but i believe every biker out there be it vespa or R1 has tendency to race with one another. its the human need for competition, battle of the fittest/fastest. it is up to the biker to know his own limitations and that of his bike. i ride sp but i use it for transport and i still lose to some kup kias....about the capability thing, there will always be someone better than u so be humble

maybe u have a point, but what's wrong with getting bikes such as r1 pgm4 and so on? im not an expert when it comes to bikes but somehow i believe these riders shouldn't be stereotyped as poseurs or wannabes. true some of them love to "whack" their bike and blow their exhausts like crazy but so what? just let them be, just be safe on the road and enjoy riding, we are all motorists and we shouldn't be against one another.

what we c in gp = the bike is been sponsered so the riders can take and wack like nobody's bussniess

i can tell u i dun ride fast or lut or even corner becoz i dun have $$ to repair if anything crops up all of a sudden...my faring is a very good example after i skidded till now i still dun have $$ to respray or repaint
next is i cant afford to get myself injured in any case if something happens coz i need myself to b in the best of shape to go for work to mantian my bike

kneeslider : some pple dun like to lose out esp when they bought an expensive bike. to them the higher the price the better their performaince of their bike. Then again mayb mr A only rides slowly in sing but races in PG and hence shld knoe his bike performance...

Own a R1/BMW doesn't mean u must ride far, but also i agree SG has no place for u to perform.
Like rich man's sons, they can own ferrari in SG, but they don drive to malaysia/thailand rite? I don even think they can even pass the custom's humps....
I don't like someone doesn't mean i can shut him up, thats the fact.
Even like bike mags/internet/friends/, u believe every single words the their reviews says? Like this magazine gives negative reviews on CBR954, like handling no good etc etc. (just an example) But u might not know Suzuki has paid the mag company to write rubbish on CBR954 to fight businesses?? And obviously Honda can't sue anyone coz the reviews are from the editor itself, rite??
Buying a bike, i only trust my own judgement.... if i think its worth it, i buy, i think its not worth it i don buy.
In the end, just be happy and contented with what u have and can afford. Its your choice, not others... play it the way u want, coz its ur bike, ur $$, ur game... -

well in some sense i agree wif u, magazines are influenced by manufacturers that advertise.. so $ affects their reviews... but there are still some magazines that are not biased.. and tell it as it is.. u just have to read and sipher out for yourself...
and u are very correct that be happy and contented with what u have and can afford play it the way u want and such...
what i have to add is just the main thing about my topic is there are many pple out there who are ignorant and dont know much about their bikes except whatever they read from magazines... get what i mean? when they meet up wif pple they like to talk a lot about their bike being able to do this do that and other bikes not being able to do the same or worse... when in the end.. they arent even able to go do what they say they can... u guys will all know someone who doesnt know much but talk alot.. and maybe some pple think that i am such too... thats why i like to say let the riding do the talking..
why dont we all meet up one day and go for some riding... leave the coffee shop talking behind... and get some action yeahhh -

hi hi,,,,, i think i met some ppl which always say that their bikes is so fast and how they control the bike so gd,,,,,cos i always at bike shop and i know some riders which really like to boast abt the bike they ride,,,,example,,,,,a R1 rider which told me that his bike can go till 300km/hr....but the actual fact is he did not even try till that extend,,,, then my friend aask him to go kl and buy egg tart which is freshly baked and give him two hours to come back and must be from that shop with the box and the rider say cannot la...tis and that la,,,,we are at JB at that time,,,,,hahahahahahaha,,,,, cos personally vtr with a rider which is consider as very gd,,,,,could only manage a 290km,,,,,cos the wind is too strong,,,try it at NS expressway ...the ppl who tell their bike can go how fast is better to be seen in action rather then hear from wat he say.....dun go and use dyno test.....no wind restriction also,,,on the road is totally different ,,,, and then go and boast how fast they can go.....cos wind obstruction is very strong...on sg road,,,my friend try his VTR on AYE,,,,,280km at middle of nite,,,,tis is consider very fast in sg rd to try a bike
....so if u really got guts to try yr bike,,,,no need to go till johor to try,,,when u r at the high speed of 200km,,,,do u think TP or S40 will continue to chase?? i am sure many experience rider which is really fast and furious also know tis,,,,, my group of friends always try in sg rd for top speed,,,,,,,no need to say till go to johor to try,,,,, got guts no need to worry abt TP and S40 ,,,,i personally try my top speed in SLE and PIE,,,,, i agree,,,let the riding do the talking...... but now cannot liao,,,,,,,hand still got metal plates and recovering from leg ligament ,,,,

as for testing of top speed in singapore.. its a risk.. and normally we dont advise pple to go try it.. unless they are ready to run if need be..
i tried top speeds in singapore a few times and its kinda fun.. and safe... so i dont see why we cant do it.. anyway here are some good places to try...
1. LIM CHU KANG runway is certainly a good place... dont go there wif a lot of bikes... and dont go there and run straight away... i normally recce wif a few friends up and down the stretch till sungei gedong camp... then go into the small road leading to the air base... and up the cemetry to see if there are any diversions there (to mr TP, i dont test top speed if i think it will endanger other members of the public.. and if i see that u guys are anywhere in the vicinity u can be sure i wont test at all... and actually i am testing a rs50cc aprilia my friend brought back from uk honest!)
this is the best place i have tried in my life... and so far some of the speeds i have got there is really cool for my own standards.. i am not saying what speeds... but my bike at 6th gear 12300rpm...
2. Aye from tuas checkpoint towards jurong.. sunday morning 7am tried once there... but manage to see 6th gear 12000rpm give and take 100rpm... never try there again coz found better place to test..
3. TPE... but very bumpy... so unless ur suspension is tuned to hardest settings u gonna get really shaken... and make sure ur damper is there... tpe from east towards north is good... the stretch b4 jln kayu should be perfect... saw 270+ there.. but never tried again after finding better places to test...
4. so far fastest i ever see on CTE was 255kmh... but i was getting thrown all over my bike coz of all the uphill and down hills and the bumps! that was thrilling.. but i wont do it again... heheheheh (to any tp reading this... i had a bad stomach ache and had to go shit really soon otherwise i would never go above 90kmh on the expressways...)
5. ECP towards AYE the straight road above the old train station at tanjong pagar there... i dont think u can test top speed here... but if there is a blue flashing light hot on ur tail all the way from east coast.. this is the place u can lose him! 270+ was wat i saw on my meter... and chances of having volvos parked at the side waiting to catch u? nahhh not a chance! too narrow!
lastly... i am bullshitting all the figures... as what others like to do... so mr TP.. if u are reading... its actually all just bull... so please dont believe what u read... i am just joking -

in school.. we are encouraged to speak up.. in colleges speak up... but when u are wif a group of bikers... watch what u say!
riders are very sensitive pple... dont u think? at a traffic light a scrambler pulls up next to u... and although the rider doesnt look at u at all and keeps blipping his throttle... some riders would get offended and start revving their own throttle thinking that he wants to race... when all he is doing is keeping his bike from stalling coz his idling speed is really low... heheheh sensitive man...
i think after all i have post about this kinda stuff i am still misunderstood...
if u have a question.. nothing wrong in asking... what i am saying is.. dont be caught giving advise to pple who are more experienced than urself about their bikes, or giving advise to ppl about riding when they have ridden much more than u...
there is this uncouth saying... "dont teach ur F..... how to f... ur M...." but that is what happens everyday at bikeshops, coffeeshops and even at race tracks...
i respect new riders as individuals, but when they wanna tell me about how to ride well... i normally get abit pissed... like this occasion when a guy having pplate riding a nsr sp happen to chat wif me about bikes... and knowing that i ride a class2 bike he started talking about honda VTRs and 929s... saying that he thinks the vtr is the best bike fastest and such and why i didnt buy that bike... and that i should.. coz he knows that its the best handling speed and got fuel injection... and he has a p plate on his bike.. and he knows all this and advise me that i should have gotten it... hahahahahaha cute..
so dont get cot doing that... coz its better for someone like that guy to take his dick and shove it in his mouth coz it would look better that way for him...
i love bikes... and if u are passionate about riding? well we can all be friends and enjoy riding... but remember one thing.. there is a difference between riding and biking... and riders and bikers..
i guess its like in sch.. we all have to wear uniforms.. but some of us like to wear it abit more fashionably like tailoring the pants to be straight cut or baggy whatever the trend is then and wearing wif the collar up etc etc... while others are contented wif wearing their uniforms normally? yet this may not be a good analogy...

actually if i were you, i would've corrected the guy riding the SP. at least this way he wouldn't make the same mistake twice, next time he'll know to brag about "the right stuff"
i love bikes (though i love my bike more than yours ) to an extend it's almost incomprehensible (ask the others).

well i am always in the bike shop sometimes and i heard many kind of ppl talk abt the sport bike they have and how fierce he is.....above all,,,seeing is believing
and i am working on towing bike in the nite,,,maybe i seen the bikes which the forum ppl are riding in sg,,,,, but dunno who u r
its quite amazing that there were a few times that i encounter ppl which rode R6,,,,asking how to clean his chain.......R1 rider asking how to change engine oil and where does the oil flow out from,,,asking VTR got how many pistons and spark plugs,,,
riding big bikes does not show u are very knowledgeble and skill and yonger riders does not mean they know nothing and talk only shit to older riders,,,,,i had a friend who is only 22yr old and he knows lots of things abt bikes,,,,cos his father owns a bike shop and he is very crazy abt bikes,,,he will try to get as much info and learn how to repair the bike and after that he will test ride the bike,,,then he will tell ppl how the bike will perform,,,,,so if any older rider tend to tell him wat to do on the bikes and saying how fast the bike is when moded with some parts,,,,,i think he will take the spanner hit him first and telling him not teach his FA.... how to F... his MO,,,,
in sg there are lots of ppl which is lau lan,sia lan and kwai lan,,,,,its up to individuals to believe on things they heard from ppl
i myself is always learning abt bikes and skill from those experience riders,,,, and especially those chief mechanics,,,they are real gd,,,,,my chief mechanic had been repairing bikes for 20years and hearing him how to mod bikes and how to react when things pop up learning from him is a great lesson
btw,,,nismo,,,,dun buy pgm 2,,,,that bike is very hard to find and for maintainece is higher ,,,try to find a PGM3,,,very hard to get now in sg,,,if really find one,,,,wow,,,,,like getting a treasure for 250cc bikes
i am thinking to get myself a PGM4 also.....no money to buy class 2 bikes........insurance is damm high,,,, although i have a RVF and lao k.....but i wouild not mind having a 250cc bike to ride also.... i seen those bigger cc bikes,,,when insurance coming,,,they tend to self make those accident and claim from insurance....lao tao man ku...read tis in hokkien
the bikers in tis forum is nice and friendly as i would say,,,but in a world...there is bound to have black sheep among it....
btw.....i am riding bike for 6 years already.....not a P-plate rider
