Differences between new sp (nsrr) and the old sp (nsr)

just wondering.. coz its seem like the nsrr is seling at a lower rate then nsr. (saw the price different at the motor show)
any1 care to share soem pt of views.

My views:
1. Nsrr is not the original sp production which i think so. Bcos the model type is different (Nsr150SP and Nsr150RR).
2.Nsrr is swing arm if u notice that, meaning two arm is hold the rear tyre. As for SP is different, its clearly stated PRO ARM.
3.In term of looks I still find that SP look nicer( no offence to Nsrr riders). So far still haven't got a chance to see the performance of Nsrr, cos no friends riding that bike leh.
4.I do agree with you that the difference in price between the two bikes is S$1000, which i did see myself at the motorshow. Anyway just my small point of views. No offence huh....

Pro-arm is the term Honda use for their swing arm technology, if I'm not wrong.
NSR150SP is single swing arm, whereas NSR150RR uses double swing arm.
Although the outside looks similar... I was told that the SP model can go faster.
Personally I prefer the SP model, mainly becoz of the swing arm. Single swing arm looks nicer. The original paintwork for the SP is nicer also.
I think, both the models don't really differ much.
I'm not too sure about the specs and stuff...maybe someone else can provide them? -

the swing arm and pro arm thing affects the cornering stability i think...proarm better actually but sp only got 1 left side, the right side no support so left corner stable

hahaha... no offence man, race spec ducatis use single sided swing-arms as well. as far as the design is concerned, there are no flaws in it. other factors do play a part, but a ducati's stability in a corner is undisputable. so long as that when the wheel is mounted using a proper torque setting, don't see how one corner can be less stable than the other. don't mind explain? -
no lah single arms are meant for convience (change tyre etc) and ease of alignment.
anyway motorshow the price that is stated right, is only the vehicle price, so haven't include insurance roadtax IU etc. in the end oso 6k. no diff lah.
there the r6 machine price put 14.8k right?
later go ask the official he tell me 17k, becoz haven't add insurance etc. -

Where got such thing as one side corner more stable becoz its single pro arm???

SP supposed to be a little more powerful than RR, if I'm not wrong.

That's rite. Honda works once quoted that the NSR-SP engine produces 38 hp max while the RR-model produces abt 1 hp less but bike testers only get abt 28 -32 hp. RR is a damn old bike... can see thousands of them in Malaysia.
it's just that dealers in S'pore seldom bring it in until recently because Honda stopped the production of SP.
SP is like the next generation of NSR150...
by the way, the PRO ARM is usually for bikes in professional racing.
when the bike comes into the pit, it'll be easier for the mechanics to change the wheel. rear wheel wears out rather fast.
PRO ARM gives better rear suspension, so Honda claims. Generally, i don't think the swing arm makes any difference but of course for the fact that PRO ARM looks definitely much better.
SP is a real beauty.

wat i notice is NSRR has a thinner fork compare to NSRSP , the swing arm of the NSRSP is PRO ARM technology for ELF but the NSRR only have two thin normal swing arm . the engine of is both machine is the same but i dun know aboth the gear ratio ! -

tot usualli it's a norm ppl tend to feel more zai in left corners no matter wat bike u riding?nothing to do wif the proarm thingy? icon to my previous posts... just to name a few bike specific factors for stability in corners: fork rake angle, tire profile/surface/temp/pressure, preload/compression/rebound, frame rigidity, damper or no damper, lean angle, rider's actions as a whole... the one or two side swing arm doesn't play a part here lar... i got a friend who can bua ka tar on the right corner, but just not left... really it's up to the rider...
as for single sided swing-arms allowing for better shocks to be used.. i mean.. er... huh? how?? anyway, a suzuki TL uses its custom-made rotary rear shock on its DUAL-sided swing-arm...
anyway, single sided swing-arms help in terms of weight (usually lightweight/hi-strength alloys) and ease of maintenance like changing of tires, adjustments etc... the most important thing is that it is properly assembled back whenever the wheel comes off. mechanics who know what they're doing use torque wrenches for securing the wheel. a torque wrench allows you to set the torque on the nut when tightening. torque settings are important because the nut can't be too loose or tight for obvious reasons esp when the wheel is mounted on one side only... hence my emphasis on the proper use of tools.
ah.. single or not single still a bike... i love my dual swing-arm planet... -
