TIBS and SMRT really turboed the cummins engine no-holds barred to milk every ouce of juice from the 8.3L setup. F1 car performance yeah together with a roar louder than the O405 but dangerous to the passengers. Even the ceiling panels came off faster than the other buses due to the undamped bumps. You could actually see the ceiling hand straps swaying from side-to-side, not seen since the days of the LP1113. Evident of a total lack of lateral suspension. Even the Hino RK176's had proper lateral suspension.
AND the seating capacity of a Lance is 31 pax.
Shitaros are shitty but still a luxury compared to the Lances.
I love if any car squeeze beside the right side if im driving lance..give them the black smoke if i floored the accelerator

I would daresay.. Shitaros are the Lances of its class in today's fleet..
Hastily designed and pieced together as an afterthought solution to replace the MKIII.. all corners are cut where possible, with an outdated 2005 model and a weak 6.4L engine.. resulting in a weak bus that has a deformed interior..
Only difference is.. I daresay the Citaros ain't cheap.. dk why SBST fell in love with them so much, but again they like falling in love with weird buses, as they did with those battered voith DM O405s of theirs..

Our Citaro is 2008 model.2005 model headlight and rear very funny and weird. Its time LTA change the front bulb using white bulb and LED bulb for tailights

Damn the Lances! Love them so much hahaha, especially when it roars and then, yeah, basically pretty much like a roller coaster ride.
But yes, citaros still a luxury compared to the lances (but i didnt state whether it is good or bad so ~)
Would agree with SMB128B that the citaros are the modern day Lances, well i guess at least we had an upgrade! HAHA!
I really miss the times when 161/168 always race with 965/969 on the expressway..
161 MK III/IV/O405 & VO/Leyland vs 965 O405/CRL/Lance
168 MK IV/O405 & VO/Leyland vs 969 O405/O405G and most of the time SMRT got edge over them although some of Hgdep MK III & Amdep Leyland can really speed up to 80!
Im so crazy that once i request to drive a UK Lance on NR6 hahaha
During SBST days at Bndep,I request to drive a Dart on 109 after I transfer from Hgdep
Fucking LTA has the ability to make noisy and irritating announcements on the new 110... yet no ability to introduce a proper stop announcer system? To at least reduce the fuck up they have caused to commuters used to taking the A22?
Wtf is this? Our taxpayer money is invested in useless "take all your shit with you" announcements, instead of something that is, idk, more PRACTICAL? Again, humji on the failed 284 trial? Why shed away and not improve it?
Today is a dark day for all CGA commuters. LTA is out to screw commuters there over. The last bright one was by SMRT's own initiative Anyway, LTA simply rode on the success.
Heres a proposition btw, if they wanna standardise so fucking much... why not just replace all the Shitaros with A22s?
When I say this I mean mass replacing SBST and GA CGA fleets with A22. And 110 also.
Since user CZT also agrees that all CGA svcs are long! Why not standardise, and give the svcs the buses they need?
Any idea why 137 is full fleet SD even though several forumers predicted that it's gonna be super popular? Are there fleet restrictions at Kaki Bukit?
The Lances were originally allocated to NEL routes before the Great Swap of 1999. The CRB used to be queen of the roads. It was the one and only Scania with Voith and hence fondly remembered by me. LTA should have done what Rapid Bus in Malaysia did and purchased KUBs and E500s en masse instead of B9TLs and Citaros.

Why O405G cannot go to Airport?
Bus too big, cannot fit inside.
巴士太大,挤进去。
Bas terlalu besar, tidak boleh masuk ke dalam.

Good things are usually very expensive.
好的东西通常是很贵的。
ä½†å°±æ˜¯å› ä¸ºå¥½ï¼Œæ‰€ä»¥è€用,ä¸会那么容易å。所以 maintainence cost 相对的会比较低。
Think about it. Would you rather get a cheap product that requires frequent maintenance, or a expensive product that requires little maintenance? Obviously the expensive product, because the overall cost is lower, if you factor in all the costs incurred over the lifespan of the bus.
^^ but I won’t say the same for handphone. Handphone is the specifications that matters, not the price. Because a lot of handphone company markup the price. So not necessarily more expensive handphone means the phone is better. In fact, a lot of “cheap phones have quite good quality. #justsaying
Price reflects the quality in most cases, but handphone is an exception. For example, XiaoMi and Oppo have better specifications than Apple, although the price is lower.

Hi mr carbikebus, I think 110 is confirmed under sembawang yishun contract, not hougang-Sengkang contract which you say. This is the 25th bus service under the negotiated sembawang-yishun contract given to smrt buses and up for renewal in yr 2020. There are 25 bus services and before 110 is introduced, it only has 24 bus services. This is not like the smrt 944 incident. Cheers. Thanks.

You really don’t trust me eh,Sembawang-Yishun original can contract is 23 svc before the introduction of 883..
2020 meaning only 3 years ah?

the press release show that Sem-Yis have only 24 services (23 current + 1 new which is 883).. so since when it become 25 services?

Exactly my point..Its the similar scenario like 944.LTA got their reason why they let SMRT run 110..

Hi mr carbikebus, sembawang yishun package from 2016-2020. 110 contract will be up in yr 2020. Cheers. Thanks.

Services can add into the package as and when they wish. for example -
No service is added into Bulim Bus Package, Bukit Merah Bus Package, Clementi Bus Package, Bishan-Toa Payoh Bus Package, Bedok Bus Package and Woodlands Bus Package.
381 is added into Loyang Bus Package
807 and upcoming 71 is added into Seletar Bus Package
110 and 883 is added into Sembawang-Yishun Bus Package
329 is added into Sengkang-Hougang Bus Package
944 is added into Choa Chu Kang-Bukit Panjang Bus Package
137 is added into Serangoon-Eunos Bus Package
256 is removed from Jurong West Bus Package (when 247 and 248 took their lead)
127, 129 and 298 is added into Tampines Bus Package
Originally posted by lemon1974:the press release show that Sem-Yis have only 24 services (23 current + 1 new which is 883).. so since when it become 25 services?
Hi mr lemon1974, press release shows sembawang-yishun to be correct as up until the day the article was released 1 yr ago. It is unable to predict every new service after the day the release is official. So we can only deduce every new bus service to be separatedly negotiated with the various bus service provider. Agree?
Since there is no official news release about which contract 110 is under, it remains subjected to various discussions. Cheers. Thanks.
Sembawang package to be farmed out in 2020, with Hougang to follow a year later. Bulim will also be up for renewal in 2021. CCK still has until 2023/24.
