SBST is more to cost saving and SMRT is the otherwise because back then SMRT runtime is so jialat that even Dennis Lance can go up to 80kmh..Now 969 even do 40kmh at expressway..😂

After the 1st Citaro landed in Amdep ive already left SMRT though i still doing part time as NR BCs.Yes i do miss the O405,O405G,UD and Lance.When i do training last time,My trainer stop at Wldep and Kjdep to let us test drive the CRL & DAF/Hino respectively and as former SBST BC too,SMRT buses is way better in terms of performance compared to SBST fleet

Few years back bus enthus were praising Citaro because it was said to be more 'smoother' than the 'jerky' or 'unstable' KUBs, and it looks more stylish etc etc unti operators mass purchase Citaro then all complain lol. I generally dislike Citaros but I prefer SMRT spec ones because got more seats than the SBST ones albeit weaker aircon. Just wished SMRT spec citaros were mass purchased instead.

I wish LTA change to ZF Ecolife...Much better acceleration than the detuned Voith.

Which is my point right. If it is SMRT spec I may dislike it less.
And I stand my ground that it is the better ones in SBST fleet. But in SMRT it brings shame and that's pretty much it

The Lance could have been a decent bus but for its non-existent suspension and the fact that the drivers had to chiong at 80km/h. Worse than roller coaster ride. I believe it was a cheap option to get to fill up the "2nd class citizen" services like 167, 851, 852, 853, 855 and 980. TIBS and SMRT really turboed the cummins engine no-holds barred to milk every ouce of juice from the 8.3L setup. F1 car performance yeah together with a roar louder than the O405 but dangerous to the passengers. Even the ceiling panels came off faster than the other buses due to the undamped bumps. You could actually see the ceiling hand straps swaying from side-to-side, not seen since the days of the LP1113. Evident of a total lack of lateral suspension. Even the Hino RK176's had proper lateral suspension.
AND the seating capacity of a Lance is 31 pax.
Shitaros are shitty but still a luxury compared to the Lances.

They need a PIS.. in fact they better get them before the A22.. but again can't trust the intelligence of LTA la haha, and SBST so stupidly design their bus to be so goddamn hard to modify
