156 very well could terminate at Buangkok Interchange. The service has lost its loading and is a back up service like 852.
There is 159, 43/M, 109 duplicating most part of its route until Serangoon.

116 cant be truncated to Buangkok Int as it has many people take it from Serangoon North to Hougang as it is very direct. Many people wont be pleased if this move will happen... thanks!

All, I saw workers touching up the grass compound for Sengkang interchange extension today afternoon 1pm. Cheers. Thanks.

Many people take 156 from YCK Rd to Sengkang Int, as unlike 43, it does not serve Buangkok MRT which has high boarding/alighting activities.
SEM int overcrowded yest. Some buses had to shift to the roadside as there was a queue of buses waiting for lots

In your opinion, svc 43/M always has high boarding/alighting, when after such high frequency, the loading is not so high anymore except when buses are late. And don't forget there is 109 in parallel as well to svc 156.
156 loading overall even in peak hours ranges between 15-30 pax between Sengkang and Boundary road. Most 156 buses depart Compass1 with <20 pax even in peak hours. Off peak don't even need to mention. Ever see buses with 05 and 10 pax only.

Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:After observing Tampines Concourse Interchange, it further makes sense to have new services start from Tampines Interchange, especially those that won't ply near the MRT. My initial understanding was that there would be an automated traveletor between Tampines MRT and Concourse like the one at Serangoon connecting NEL and CCL. But given the long walk, no one's going to do it.
Tampines Concourse Interchange
Existing services: 18, 39, 129
Future services:
3 -> since it passes by Tampines MRT along ave 4
114 -> Tampines Concourse/Sengkang service via Ave 5, 4, 7 duplicating svc 27 to Sengkang (speculation)
3 cannot. Based on my observation, more people board 3 at Tampines Int than Tampines MRT.

With so many DDs on 43 now, loading on 156 in North-East sector seems to have dropped. Not to mention many empty 43 buses even during peak hours.
When SBST was still operating 43, I have seen 156 buses with >50 pax when 43 was delayed.

This will never happen. It serves Serangoon North Ave 3/4 where 315 winds around Serangoon Gardens and Lorong Chuan, and 73, 159 to Ang Mo Kio is not that near. 116 is the fastest connection to MRT.
Please don't make the residents walk out to YCK Rd just to take 43/70 to Serangoon. By the time the NEL south-bound train reaches there, it is probably already fully packed during AM peak.

Thats why I suggested to cut one split duty for S43,43M to have 3 DD/3 SD with frequencies of 12-16 min per bus.

Reposted today's AM Punggol observation in loading thread.
@carbikebus, @dupdup - is the above observation consistent with what you see?
All, the bus lanes in extended Punggol interchange all seem to be completed. Left the admin office, the canteen, the waiting berths for passengers and the new toilets. Seem like still got some time before the official Q3 2017 completion timeframe given on the plaque outside the construction area. Cheers. Thanks.
