YCK need an expansion since its an Interchange
Originally posted by carbikebus:YCK need an expansion since its an Interchange
Yeah, and i see potential in an expansion, esp when there are so much space ard. But the curious thing is, i wonder how the layout of the new expansion could be?
Apparently, a High-Speed Rail station comes with a bus interchange facility, like an airport.
Is there a possibility that the High Speed Rail station at Jurong East could have a bus interchange of its own? Because this seems to be the arrangement at other High Speed Rail stations, where there is seamless connection to local bus routes.
If so, some routes at the Jurong East Bus Interchange can be transferred to the (possible) bus interchange at the High Speed Rail station, reducing the number of bus routes at Jurong East Bus Interchange.
With a smaller number of bus routes, the new Jurong East Bus Interchange could have smaller capacity, and may be able to fit into the limited space confined by the MRT viaduct, as a regular building (Integrated Transport Hub).

Wah its u again. I understood what u wrote, until the last para... What talking you?
Anyways i dun think it is rly time (or is it time) to talk abt SG-KL HSR, as i wont forsee it being ready by 31 dec 2026. And pls, how many times LTA has disappointed us by delaying stuff, let alone working together with another country. Correct me if im wrong, but i think lta is involved in that huge project right? Ha. I think aft CRL finish the HSR still not open LOLOL
Anyways, there will always be a possibility that there might be another int, like how sengkang compassval, coz i rmb there were articles that stated the HSR stop would not be connected to JE. But then again, HSR is located near JE MRT (the current jurong country club right?), and there shld be efforts made to the pax to connect to the MRT seamlessly, albeit more walking, and from there connect to the bus int. IMO a second one wont rly be necessary. At most would be a few looping services?

There is space if they want to do expansion.
YCK Interchange expansion can house more services.
Service 45 can terminate there in addition to sv 265 and 268. This way it will relieve the congestion at AMK. The missing link between AMK Industrial and YCK MRT can be covered by sv 70. In addition, can launch new service from YCK to Sengkang via Sengkang West/East Way via AMK Industrial, YCK Road. This will complement sv 163.
In the old Tampines Interchange, since service 18 & 39 are no longer there,
Which bus services have taken over the berths?
Service 4? 20? 46? Or 127? Anyone observed?

Buangkok ITH development will commence as early as end-2017.
In the near future, Buangkok MRT will have an Integrated Transport Hub, with MRT station and bus interchange, adding convenience to the lives of the people living in the area.
According to URA, besides this ITH, Buangkok MRT next time will also have other social and commercial developments.
The Chinese newspaper understands that this ITH will have hawker centre, child care centre, senior activity centre, and community centre.
URA spokesperson say they are working with other government agencies, to ensure that the different services are well integrated in the development. They will announce more details once the plan is finalised.

Huh..AMK Svc?
YCK Interchange bus network
13, 70, 72/B, 76, 162
AMK Depot:
45, 265, 268
Proposal
YCK Interchange:
45 -> Upper East Coast Terminal
70 -> Shenton Way Terminal
72 -> Tampines Interchange
72B -> ITE HQ (AMK Ave 5)
265 -> AMK St 52 via AMK Depot, YCK Road... and continues route
268 -> AMK Industrial Estate
AMK Depot:
13 -> extended to AMK Depot from YCK
76 -> extended to AMK Depot from ave 9 to maintain link between AMK Ave 4 and YCK industrial estate
162 -> shortened to terminate at AMK Interchange since loading extremely poor between YCK and AMK (many duplicate services)
** The above will provide feeders 265/268 with direct MRT access rather than going to ave 9
** Also 45 starting at YCK Interchange will provide good MRT alternative to over-crowded services along AMK Ave 10
** Extending 13 will provide direct YCK Industrial access to AMK Ave 6/Bishan. sv 76 extension is to compensate for loss of 268 from ave 4.

Seems quite reasonable ... I've always wondered by the high frequency svcs 265 and 268 terminates at AMDEP whereas svc 76 terminates at YCK Terminal, they ought to swop terminals IMO ...
Just a note about your svc 162 amendment: Cutting back is actually fine because there's svc 853 to cover the missing sectors. I'm not quite sure if there is still space at AMK Int though!

76 has been drafted into Seletar contract. AMDEP is in Bishan contract area. For YCK, only 13 and 72 still not farmed out yet.

I can agree with the first suggestion (turn straight into Ave 8 and follow the MRT tracks to Bishan), least modifications to the route, probably affects least number of existing passengers, also avoids the traffic jams at AMK Ave 3 outside AMK Hub as well, so good changes overall ...

Later they lose AMK/YCK also freed up space mah
All, I saw parking lanes yellow markings already drawn on one side of the expanded Punggol bus interchange. However they are still cordoned off. Cheers. Thanks.
