I was thinking since you mention about need more lots, can Service 72 be re-shifted to terminate at AMK Interchange and maybe Svc 138 and Svc 22 terminate at Yio Chu Kang Interchange...

That's the most insane suggestion ;-)
Do you even know the # people who take 72 from YCK Terminal to AMK Ave 5. A bus every 05 mins taking 70-80 pax. + you have 72B at 03 mins with 50-70 pax.

You won't see 7 sv72 buses inside yck terminal during peak hour. 4 is also very rare. N there are additional parallel parking lots available there.

His logic is like that mah...If he see svc 5 svc 43 travel together he will also suggest 5 parking lots for svc 43.If he is the transport planners i am sure he will propose more mega size interchange as well,Svc like 190 he will plan for 6 parking lots too.

There are rumours that the new Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange would have twenty-four parking lots, three saw-tooth boarding berths and four alighting berths.

Where would 700A start and terminate then? There is actually space freed up at Marina Centre after 77 to TT. And 983 is possible.. But given the number of services already and the bus park sometimes cant handle the parking..
Where are the side parking lots in Hougang interchange? I counted 38 lots.
The straits times article said that there are 48 lots currently.

24 parking lots? Even less than Clementi.
I hope the BPTBP will still be there to supplement the ITH once it is open
I think svc 13 and 72 will be under Upp East Coast and Tampines in future.Meanwhile Tampines expansion might see a new trunk svc 71 and new feeder going to Concourse side in future.

I hope BPJ bus park will be expand and refurbish into a GCM Depot..Good enough for 500 buses if they also take the heavy vehicle park and can be use for CCK,BPJ and part of Woodlands service like 178,187,960,963 and 966.
I already feedback to LTA regarding BPJ BP expansion plannings for future GCM usage as well as Ulu Pandan package..Seems like 96 and the three feeders is a temporary measure and will be exchange with other 4 service instead for Bulim.
The Clement services handover was just to clear space in BBDEP.
Can anyone answer my question about the missing parking lots in HG interchange?

Go and check for yourself la dey..
I dun think BPJ ITH got 24 parking lots only,LTA didnt think about those SMRT bendies ah?I think around 28-32 lots.

75, 176, 180, 184, 700, 920, 922, 970, 972, 975, 979 + future provision of 2 bus services. 177 will not be looping and will continue to provide connectivity here.
Hi i think this has been discussed before, but what could the fate of the former Hougang South Bus Interchange?
Tbh i feel that it could hav been upgraded to a terminal or smth since 2 bus services (115 and 53M) uses it as a terminus and turn around point repectively. Bcs on 53M would not then have to drive up to hougang to have their breaks. On the other hand, I feel that these 2 serives may be withdrawn/merged/diverted elsewhere and the place would become a normal bus stop again.
What do you think? I am quite curious about the views
Thanks!

Hougang South would have been a good place to have a small interchange. With Hougang interchange extension I think there is no hope.
Hougang South would have been a good place to host few of the HCI services.

bukit panjang ITH is smaller than clementi
clementi is 8100m2, while bukit panjang is 7350m2.
so dun expect too much...
the initial press release in 2011 mention that 11 services will use the new ITH...

So what I think is: 75, 176, 180, 184, 700/700A, 920, 922, 970, 972, 975, 979/979M, 983.
Tampines Interchange Extension coming up in full swing
It maybe a simple push of services that are at the end of interchange to the extension i.e. sv 8, 23, 46, 81.
But my preference is as follows:
8/18/38 - those towards Tampines East CC via Tampines Ave 7
* Those traveling to Tampines Ave 7 will still have access to sv 4, 19, 37, 81 from Tampines interchange without having to go to the expansion area
23 - those going to Temasek/Little India
969 - long distance travelers can go via traveletor to interchange expansion
* Tried to maintain all feeders/intra-towns and services that are used as short trunks to Bedok Reservoir/Tampines Ave 2 at the main interchange
Sengkang Interchange extension service move
156 - Clementi
159 - Toa Payoh
965 - Woodlands
xxx - provision for new service
* 156/159 have few people taking from MRT within Sengkang town + have provision of bus stop right outside Compass1.
* 965 to have dedicated long distance travelers take from there. Those towards Compassalve St can continue to take LRT, 83, 371.
At current interchange
80, 83, 86, 87, 163/M, 371, 372, 373 (future)
* 80/87 included here since many people take from MRT to Punggol road. So shorten their walking distance
* 86 because many people take from MRT to Rivervale

In future BPJ will have only 2 bendy services - 176 / 184.
Currently 180 has few bendies but will get converted to DDs. 700 has 1 or 2.
