When HGDEP transferred some DDs to BBDEP to clear space, why did HGDEP not transfer any spare DDs to BBDEP? (Unless SBS7701R was the spare transferred over.)
Strangely, BBDEP didn't use any B4 Wrights to replace SBS9469Z, SBS9471R, SBS9473K and SBS9494A. Instead, BBDEP used them to kick out CDGEs.
Because big bully depots like HGDEP Ltd like to bully small depots like BBDEP Ltd.
Punggol Bus Interchange
Works have started on the extension annex. The location is at the empty land between the bus bay and Punggol Place, next to the driveway.
Sengkang Bus Interchange
The new air-conditioning system is now in use. Like finally. No more stuffy bus interchange.
Meanwhile, the bus interchange looks brighter now. :)
As for the extension annex, until now I have not seen the shelter yet. Not sure if the construction can finish by Q3 or not.
Anyway, I guess the driveway into the extension annex may be that one at Compassvale Road, currently being used by the construction vehicles.
Really hope that they plan the routes well, and not simply shorten Sengkang Bus Interchange routes at Compassvale Road to use the extension annex. I am okay with having bus services calling at the bus stop outside Compass Point (Sengkang MRT Station) to use the extension annex, but not for those that do not (e.g. 372) as passengers on those buses would have to walk longer distances to/fro the MRT Station as a result.
Punggol extension is not that huge,Only 10-11 lots plus a new boarding berths.Sengkang one i think its 20 lots.
Q: Why is Loyang Depot covered up like a prison?
There is this opaque green colour wall covering the entire perimeter of Loyang depot. I feel that this makes the depot look quite dark, and it is not good for the eyes.
If we do not see long distances for a long period of time, it will affect our eyesight. For this reason, I pity the people working full-time inside the Loyang Bus Depot.
Hopefully, go-ahead got organise some events for their staff, like once a week go outside walk walk or something. Everytime stay inside an enclosed space is not good.

Do you want another German break into depots and vandalise our buses? Obviously, its security reasons ...
The rest of your post, you should enquire Occupational Safety and Health Division of MOM ...

ok, but why must cover up?
btw, SLBP not fully covered up. Can at least see the buses drive up the ramp. BBDEP can at least see the buses from expressway side.

Oh I see. I can understand if this is a security feature, as there is a need for privacy and security in the bus depot. Thanks for the explanation. :)

Actually, Changi Prison has a very big compound, and the buildings are quite far apart. I know it because I was inside there before (I went there for a field trip). There is space for the prisoners to "go outdoors", get sun light, see far distances and stuff.
Whereas for Loyang Depot, with the tall walls wrapped around it, it is almost impossible to look outside and see far distances. The most is just the sky above, that's all. There is a reason why most office buildings have transparent windows. It is for the workers to see far far and rest their eyes.
Loyang depot is probably the only bus depot in Singapore that is almost completely wrapped with tall walls.
Furthermore, the interior colours are quite dark... dark colours are good conductors of heat. The inside is probably quite hot/stuffy.
There may be a need for many air-conditioning and fans. Because of that, the electricity bill may be quite high.
Or, could it be that they want the bus depot to be hot and stuffy, that's why they use dark colours for the interiors and wrap a tall wall around the depot? Cuz my lecturer say that diesel engines start up fast when the temperature is high. If the temperature is low, the diesel engine will take a long time to start.
Of course, the temperature cannot be too high, otherwise there is the risk of engine over-heating and catching fire. Acually, given that the average temperature in Singapore is around 25 degrees Celsius, is there really a need to make the depot hot and stuffy?
In the western countries, there may be a need to do it, cuz the temperature is low, and this makes it difficult for engines to start-up. As a result, service delays and stuff due to engine not starting up is quite common in the western countries. Hence, there is a need to make the depot hot and stuffy to make it easier for the engine to start-up.
However, in countries along the equator, the temperature is high. It is better not to make the depot hot and stuffy, as doing so would increase the risk of engines catching fire.
Not that I want to say bad things, but, good luck to the people maintaining the buses at Loyang Depot. If there is a fire at Loyang Depot, we probably know why.
From the looks of it, Go-Ahead is bringing in the western practices to Singapore whole-scale. Clearly, some of the western practices may not be suitable here. Nonetheless, isn't this what the LTA wants? So, deal with it.
Well, this is just my two cents worth.

They are noise barriers.
It doesn't stop lobbyists from photographing the interior of the depot through the lower fence.

The missing bus on 14 is previously SG5309R.
Is SMRT still using Bulim Depot? If yes, when will they move out?
Heard Punggol will have at least 3 new service once the extension is completed.11 parking lots and 1 new boarding berth,Hmm back to square one again?Maybe 44 & 137?

Most probably when CCK and BPJ package is announce.
There is free buffet at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange now. From what I heard, it is for the public, to thank everyone for the support given to SMRT. :)

BBDEP 14 is full fleet DD. The notes in Service 10 page says that the 3 missing buses are random CDGEs.
