Hi mr TIB1112L, thanks.
From what I heard from rumours, the new Yishun service will be another feeder probably for the BTO flats along Yishun St 51 @ 52.

Just as i thought...Long trunk service is a taboo for them.

Yishun has enough trunk services just running down Ave 2 ... diverting just one or two to serve nearby roads such as Ave 3/4/11, Ring Rd, St 61 would have eliminated the need for so many complementary townlinks/feeders (806, 812, 860) down there. Enough for these services to reroute and serve the new area.
Now they just want to add new feeders and pack the interchange even more.
Couldn't they just make Khatib MRT Stn a more convenient transfer hub, especially for southeast Yishun? Saves the trouble from crowding at Yishun Int.

Likewise for Pioneer MRT Station, Dover MRT Station, Bukit Gombak MRT Station, etcetera.
We can make better use of them to alleviate the heavy loading at Boon Lay Bus Interchange, Clementi Bus Interchange, Bukit Batok Bus Interchange, etcetera.
For example, we can re-route feeder routes 242 and 243 to loop around Pioneer MRT Station, while create a new feeder route 244 to compensate the loss of bus connection.
I am sorry that I keep suggesting this, but I feel that this is the solution to alleviate the high loading off the bus routes at Boon Lay Bus Interchange going to Jurong West Neighbourhoods 6, 7 and 8.
243: ... > Street 81 > Street 71 > Street 61 > Street 63 > Pioneer Road North > Avenue 4 > Street 71 > Street 81 > ...
242: ... > Street 71 > Avenue 4 > Pioneer Road North > Street 63 > Street 61 > Street 71 > Avenue 5 > Street 72 > Avenue 4 > ...
244: Central 3 > Street 64 > Street 62 > Street 61 > Avenue 4 > Pioneer Road North > Avenue 5 > Street 71 > Street 61 > Street 62 > Street 64 > Central 3
I understand there is a limit in how many bus routes can call at the bus stops at Pioneer MRT Station. That is why I suggest 242 and 243 loop in opposite directions, so that each bus stop has only one new bus route.
If possible, the LTA should build a new bus stop next to exit A, to replace the existing bus stop around 65 metres away. They can build it at where the taxi stand is, while temporarily remove the taxi stand. A new taxi stand can be built at where the existing bus stop is.
If possible, the LTA should make the escalators at exit A and exit B of Pioneer MRT Station move in the opposite direction (down-riding) in the evening.

false. Yishun service is 117 (passing by)

Hi mr TIB1112L, seems like sbs 117 is a service from punggol to sembawang but also acting like mini feeder in punggol town and also mini feeder in yishun with ultimate connection to sembawang. Good also. Sound interesting. Will wait for its route to be officially announced. Cheers. Thanks.

It will come but not so soon... the flats along st 51 will be operational only from 2016/2017... so no need for service right now plying there... in future there will be feeder to ave 1, st 41/51 area...

Dec: Tamp - Bedok / Marine Parade
I have a sense of feeling that the Marine Parade service is for Haig Rd.. But the Tampines-Bedok sector makes no sense. Svc 18, 28, 31, 67, 69 are already enough for almost every single part of Tampines to go to Bedok (even the most remote N4 where 28/29 plies). The only reason I see for this service to start from Tampines is the lack of space in Bedok Int; otherwise it's totally unnecessary to start from Tampines.
Bedok to Marine Parade also has enough services already... Marine Parade Rd got 16, 31, 196, 197, East Coast Rd got 32, 40, Changi Rd/Sims Ave got tons of services plus MRT, even Bedok Reservoir got 60, 66 etc... I really don't know what unique route LTA can come out. Or maybe they want this service to duplicate other services all the way just for the sake of Haig Rd, which is totally stupid IMO.
Even a short trunk from Bedok to CBP would make more sense than this.

Yes I have the same question. Unless it is a service starting from CBP to Marine Parade via Bedok.
By the way, the turn to Haig road is very narrow and I think there will be some difficulty for even SDs to turn on to Haig road from Geylang side. No wonder no service plies there. The lower end of Haig road close to Mountbatten road is wider. You don't need a new service to do this. You can just divert 135 from Tanjong Katong --> Dunman Rd --> Haig road... this way 135 will miss 2 stops on Tanjong Katong road and cover 3 stops (1 on Dunman, 2 on Haig road)... Easy fix!
Service 253, 256 and 258 may be JIS Services

Cannot be... Tampines is EVEN MORE crowded than Bedok... To the extent that the BSEP svcs dont even get proper berths...
I doubt LTA will be that dumb to start any more svc there until the DTL and, hence, the overflow int is completed...
Just thinking... What if they shorten 67 to Eunos or Lor 1 (or even withdraw 67), then introduce a service from Tampines plying 67 route before turning to Marine Parade, and say it's a 'new' service?

It definitely would make sense but there are people from Serangoon road who travel to Bedok with sv 67. They just can't take that connection out.
67 can do Lor 1 - CCK but will need another sv like 68 to do Tampines - Rochor Canal Rd (loop)..

Tampines is getting Tampines interchange extension... Bedok is not.

Extension i think only 12 parking lots.

That's why i say... LTA shouldn't intro new svcs in tamp until it is complete... Coz now is worse than bedok...

As per the press release.. was slated to complete in Q4, 2015 which is round the corner + CBP Terminal was also to be completed in 2015. With this, you have scope for 8 new services at Tampines / CBP.

tender for the expansion closed in Jan 2015.. but only awarded the tender on 11 aug... so can they complete by end of 2015?
meanwhile, LTA is gonig to built a new Shenton way terminal.. dun ask me where....

Jurong West is a large planning area.
It would be ideal if every sub-zone gets a new bus route.
Hopefully the new Shenton Way Terminal allow boarding and alighting also
