Hi mr TIB1112L, thanks for the info. At least something more logical and practical this time round. Not from Punggol to destinations such as Hougang, serangoon central again and again. Looking forward to it. By the way, do you have an estimated date of implementation? Cheers.
Originally posted by carbikebus:For now SAP workers have their own company transport and in future there will be more recruitment as some of the famous aircraft manufacturers/Spare part agents will set up company there.About 117 i got a doubt it will even ply there.102 i heard will just loop at the airport instead.SMRT really dont wanna take advantage there.
Maybe they want to encourage people to take public transport like alps Ave now got sv 35 but still majority people take the company transport / alps shuttle. If good bus service is provided, company can stop shuttle as part of its cost management initiative

103 extended to Yishun
102 as initially mentioned... and now 117 also to pass Seletar...
Has there been new development at the Aerospace park to justify so many new introductions for Seletar or sudden surge of commuters?
I remember some news on LTA Facebook about developments in SAP
In future if the 6.9m is fulfilled i forsee another round of overcrowding, erratic frequencies public transport issues again..Not to mention the loads of foreigners working here..
You can call me bias or what i dont care but its a reality we have to face..

Supposedly BSEP is more like creating new links to ply new areas...

Currently the new services written there are: 102, 117, 253, 256, 258, 963A
Let's hope they don't end up like 164 and 71 which ended up disappeared from that website with no reason.
By the way anyone went to Joo Koon to see the routes of 253, 256 and 258?

New areas with only a few stops which the previous generation would gladly walked..So much intelligent LTA is..

But they do benefit commuters... Services like 140 are having healthy loading even when those living at St. George's could have easily walked to other roads to take other services. Just that these are not the services we need the most at this moment.

I really thought Punggol - Tampines service made a lot of sense. A lot more than the proposed Punggol - Sembawang service. With 34 already at full capacity, 164 via Punggol west and covering Tampines Ave 10, 5, 8, 1 before heading to ITE and CBP would give lot of new direct connection to commuters.
i doubt there would be significant people commuting between Sembawang and Punggol given both are largely residential towns. When you connect two towns, you need to check if people will commute for work, pleasure, schooling or higher education. I don't see that with the proposed Punggol - Sembawang route but do find it valuable to have another route covering Tampines, Simei and Changi Business Park. Hope it comes true once CBP terminal is up and running.

Yea,Svc like 122 also benefit commuters but again what we really want is long distance expressway service..I dont mind paying $4 from Tampines to Bt Panjang..From Tampines limit to 8 bus stops before hitting expressway to Bt Panjang(Another 4-5 bus stops before end)

140 does make sense coz some of the flats at st George are quite inside from main road. At the same time, Upper Seangoon road being Uni directional, 140 facilitates transfer between Upper Serangoon and Bendemeer road while also providing quick access to Kallang MRT. For a short route, peak loading does go to 50 pax

I believe the purpose of 117 is to connect Punggol-SAP and Sembawang-Canberra-Yishun-SAP... But I guess they overestimated the demand at SAP.
If more service are like this trust me i would left my car and motorbike at home during weekdays and take buses instead

I would say let's wait for the route first. Lots of speculation in last few months but resulted in no services. 103 itself has not picked up in terms of loading between Yishun and SAP - don't really see why you would need one more service from SAP to Yishun/Sembawang.
based on my observation, TIB1112L info looks quite reliable.

no date, but speculations:

Oct: 102, 117
Nov: 99, 253, 256, 258
Dec: Tamp - Bedok / Marine Parade

So 99 really going Joo Koon huh!?
Tampines to Bedok / Marine Parade ~ already have so many services.. I really don't know what the need would be...
Rather still rooting for Tampines / NEL service... this sector needs one more... they could do it CBP / Punggol or Bedok / Punggol...
