From my personal experience. Taking 858 from Woodlands to CGA is still the same as u catch a 168 to Jalan Kayu and change to 858. Tried this alternative method a lot of times and i realize i catch the same bus that i missed near my house at Jalan Kayu thus if i take the bus that i missed, the duration would be the same though.

* 161 substitutes for 168 instead for Woodlands
* 85 substitues for 858 towards Yishun
* The only problem will be towards Bedok... there will not be a service if 168 is taken out... but for these few ppl they will need to transfer once more at Punggol road.
No need for 85. 39 already goes to Yishun. What about Changi Airport?

One year anniversary for the 190 saga.. looks like the problem persists. and additional prob created, how to solve the crowds on sv 972 .
2014 did not see any good route implemented by the LTA. Except the city direct and some Peaks hours short haul services

972 issue should be resolved in Oct round... I believe the service will get additional 3-5 WEGs on 972.
190 also should start getting SMRT ADLs soon. What needs to be seen is whether bendies are replaced or rigids!!

For 190 i think the O405s will be replace by deckers first then gradually a few bendies..972 at worse 4 A22s replace by deckers and they need another split duty..966 sufficient for now.969 need at least 6 deckers

969 has 1 perm+ 2 x-over DDs. The problem is not WL side, majority of bendies come from AMDEP side.

Now that TPE stop has opened.. should get 1 more perm ADL.

According to the LTA's Facebook page post, there will be 5 more BSEP bus services to improve connectivity in Bukit Batok, Changi, Jurong East, Kallang and West Coast...That particular post is regarding the second year report on BSEP。

Yes read it as well. Maybe Jurong East is sv to st 21, st 24.

50/850E/951E/972 are PTO's improvement?
even 188/700/963/969/969 are consider as BSEP improvement...
[5] PTOs improvements (July 2014 – September 2014):
SBST Services: 50, 53, 124, 145 and 518
SMRT Services: 106, 188,190, 302, 700 ,850E, 882, 951E, 963, 966, 969 and 972
