Sv 109's e-tt change for 05 Oct reflects no changes in WAB/non-WAB trips, timings or frequency. Probably just a update to reflect the new stop.
Quite a different approach compared to Sv 168 & 39 (mentioned in previous page).
I really hope that 39, 168 and 858 can now skip Jln Kayu. It is a waste of time, and to a lesser extent, operating costs. The recent addition of yet another junction at the entrance to SLE meant another 2 mins into journey time for northbound buses.
The loading on these svcs is just too high and the amount of native pax from is just too little; many of these pax are transfer pax from 103 at Jln Kayu and Fernvale area of YCK road (they can take the more frequent 86 and transfer at TPE to the east or 85/851/854 to the north) , or simply transfer pax betweem the mentioned svcs.
As for those coming out from the Camp, the amount is just not justifiable enough for the other vast majority to stop for them and hence waste at least 10-15 mins of their time. Especially with the addition of the TPE stop now, the svcs will really go bonkers and there is a need to keep up with the express speeds to deal with the increasing demands of this svc.
So it's just a matter of cost here. Skip TPE, and residents of the two growing giants would be as loss. Skip Jln Kayu and camp personnel will be affected. Stop both and the thousands of commuters from the hearts of two Singaporean areas, most who may have been relying on the service for years, will be the suffering crowd.
The choice is obvious.

I endorse your suggestion but it is highly unlikely LTA will take that step given it does not believe in benefit to majority for the sake of few minority who will get inconvenienced. I would say they need to redesign the services calling at Jalan Kayu instead.
Jalan Kayu: 39, 85, 86, 103, 161
Skips: 168, 858
* 161 substitutes for 168 instead for Woodlands
* 85 substitues for 858 towards Yishun
* The only problem will be towards Bedok... there will not be a service if 168 is taken out... but for these few ppl they will need to transfer once more at Punggol road.

There is no need to sub for 858...39 has already provided the link between Jalan Kayu and Lentor Avenue...
858 should skip Sembawang in my opinion,Sembawang should introduce a service to Airport via Yishun estates,Ave 1 then Lentor SLE skips Jln Kayu

Hi mr carbikebus, smrt 858 should remain as it is the only service connecting woodlands, sembawang and yishun with seletar camp at jalan Kayu. So best not to touch it. Cheers.

Hi mr busanalyser, no need for both sbs 39 and sbs 85 to both stop at jalan Kayu for seletar west camp. Initially only 1 out of both go there so this suggestion should not remain.
As for sbs 168, it should still go to jalan Kayu seletar west camp stop if there is no other alternative. Cheers.

Hi mr smb128b, this is totally not possible. People around those areas need transfer to sbs 39, 168 and smrt 858.
These are not additional services and they just need bypass the stops. If follow your suggestion to take them out, residents around jalan Kayu end up complaining and LTA may be forced to introduce new routes or even reinstate the above mentioned services. So the cost issue may not stand if end up new routes need to be introduced.
The basic understanding is if the bus stop is along the way of the bus services, they shall stop there. The same reasoning applies for the TPE stop. Cheers.
I think we should leave it as it is. There are pax that take 39 and 168 to Seletar from east side as well. 858 also connects the North area with that transfer hub. 161 already skips Jln Kayu, and will just dupe 86 from Jln Kayu to Punggol Rd if amended to replace 168.
But seriously no one would take 858 from Woodlands to Airport, too much winding ever since enhance to Sembawang and Yishun Ctrl 2..Extend 859 to loop at Ctrl 2 better rather than terminate at Yishun Int
SMRT can just introduce 858E Woodlands to CGA express, skipping several stops at sembawang and yishun then express all the way to cga

Wont work
858 cannot branch out anymore
CGA also no space alr
2 new routes coming up in jurong area
it will be part of the 1st tender bus package. 26 services in total instead of 24.
2 new routes to be ready before the package

There are people taking 858 from Woodlands to Airport..
* SBS6488M still not register...

No choice so have to... if with bags... prefer to take 858 direct. If not, then stupid to take 858 when can take 168 to jalan kayu and change to 858.

I think should be for Corporation road... the new HDBs there have only 178 as of now which is v unreliable... also hope there is a service along International road... as this is neglected part of industrial hub.

856 and 859 route similar from Yishun to Sembawang.. only then changes for the last bit where 859A/B ply...
Better to have 859 loop around Yishun Central, Yishun Ring road to connect more pax.

Agree...I am one of those passengers from Woodlands to Changi Airport whenever I want to visit Singapore Expo or for other purposes.
All, LTA has just announced the next 5 areas to get new bus services in the next few months. They are bukit batok, changi, jurong east, kallang and west coast. Wow cheers. Judging from the places given, these should all be trunk services. Let's look forward to what types of routes will be planned!!! So for bukit batok and jurong east, they are most likely the 2 new bus services which are part of the tender for 24 current + 2 new routes. Cheers.

Hi mr carbikebus, I read somewhere they say it will be inter towns. But I think the third and fourth ones look unlikely due to long distance. No offence, ok? Cheers!!!

Changi will soon be inaugurated with an extension of 135, or even possibly 432
