Two services that should get an additional WEG (SD-->DD conversion)
101 --> Serangoon Interchange loop @ Buangkok Link
20 --> Tampines Interchange loop @ CBP 2 (may be can even get 2 WEGs)
Both services AM/PM load is very high and pax often get left behind.

8 buses is off-peak... during peak you have 11 buses... most of the route is expressway..
Originally posted by Bus Stopping:Why would 3 doors DD not be allowed when there are buses already with 3 doors. There's nothing that make a 3 door DD different from a 3 door bendy. Don't make stuff up and put it in the mouth of LTA.
If you don't misinterpret DDs as Bendies, they have different lengths so it makes an exception.

101 can just be converted into another HG feeder and it's good enough.

It is from Serangoon... so cannot be counted as feeder.
518's peak frequency is quite odd. Sometimes can have huge gap, then all the 518A come, all the bus suddenly fly in within minutes, then go back to 20 min freq.
info from someone that a new feeder bus svc most likely named Sv 326 or Sv 324, Serving Hougang Int - Upp Serangoon Cresent (Loop)

Hi mr SBS5010P, so it is another feeder again? Info from who? If true, this shows LTA is no longer keen on super long routes. Cheers!

LTA isnt keen on long routes. They are introducing bus services that connects people to the MRT only. The longest route they have introduced i think is Sv 50.

wad he means is that Hougang - Buangkok Link part LTA can just introduce a new feeder bus svc to share the load.

Hi mr SBS5010P, I know LTA not keen on long routes. The policy is always hub and spoke. MRT is the no 1. So you have the exact route for the hougang feeder? I predict implement on 7 sept Sunday! Cheers!

Im not sure whether it's confirmed but the routing should be Hougang Central > Upp Serangoon Rd > Upp Serangoon View > Upp Serangoon Cresent > Upp Serangoon Rd > Hougang Central
The looping point would be like Sv 101's 3 point turn or most likely like 386's looping point. Im not sure because i havent been there to check.
Im sure aft this svc is introduced pax taking 62/136 travelling to upp serangoon view from HG MRT would flock to this new feeder due to it's nature at calling from the interchange
Off topic - I dont think SG would be ready to be like HK where travelling everywhere is faster and convenient via MTR..

Upp Serangoon Crescent blocks are still under construction...

Anyways 3 door DDs aren't allowed on Singapore for revenue service (except tours and passing by) due to LTA not allowing it.
Borismaster has 3 staircase but few passengers...
Not suitable for SG YET

I highly doubt it would play Upper Serangoon Crescent and Upper Serangoon View..
I would not be surprised if it plies upper Serangoon Road around those roads though because yes the new blocks there need an additional service than just 62/136. What is surprising to me is the length of this service.
For 386, I understand it is to cater to the HDBs at the end of the roads, where people are now come to stay. Over here, it needs to go further to connect Buangkok Drive or Sengkang East Ave to Buangkok MRT and loop back. This is bare minimum.
I would prefer it does Buangkok and goes further and loops back via Anchorvale and Fernvale towns, creating additional link to Buangkok MRT.

Few blocks along crescent are ready.. though many are still under construction. Doesnt warrant a service just for these blocks.
Proposal: sv 114
Hougang Interchange
Upper Serangoon Road
Sengkang East Ave
Punggol Rd
Compassalve Bow
Sengkang Central (Buangkok MRT)
Sengkang East Ave
Anchorvale Link (3 new stops)
Anchorvale St (1 new stop)
Anchorvale Rd (1 new stop)
Sengkang East Way (1 stop)
Anchorvale Link (2 new stops)
Sengkang East Ave and back to HG Interchange
* This to me would be a good route connecting new HDB blocks along Anchorvale st, link, crescent, road to Buangkok MRT
* additional service from Upper Serangoon rd to HG MRT

Anchorvale St no need new stop as there are alr bus stops at Farmway LRT, ready for use.
I feel that Express services should have a similar fare structure to Nite Owl services, like cheaper for intra-town, and more expensive for town-city. Some of the routes Express services covered, if using standard fare, may actually see some usage during off-peak as well.
502: SL Depot - Boon Lay Way
506: JE - Bukit Batok East Ave 3, Jln Eunos to UEC
518: PSR - Bedok North Rd
So far, 502 is the only service from Jurong West to IMM, 506 have decent intra-town in Bedok sector, and give another alternative from JE to MI, and 518 will definately benifit TP pax from PSR/Tamp East

Unfortunately, doing that defeats all purpose of it being an express service.
One of the reasons (other than express sector) why express routes are faster is because of less boarding activity upon reaching its destination town. Imagine 502 having 10-20 adults boarding and alighting every stop along jurong east/west ave 1 (Imm is ok because its the only direct link). That would cause additional travel time for those who boarded it from the city and wants to get home quick.
518 DD Bras Basah Rd twds Pasir Ris around 1220hrs +/-
Originally posted by Acx1688:518 DD Bras Basah Rd twds Pasir Ris around 1220hrs +/-
518 normally took more than 3 hours to complete its full trip. Since I do not have much knowledge about its actual time taken to complete the full route, I will try to estimate it.
Bras Basah - Bayfront - about 15 - 20 mins
Bayfront - Bedok North - about 25 - 30 mins
Bedok North - TP - about 10 mins
TP - Loyang - about 15 mins
Loyang - PSR Int - about 25 - 30 mins
If we need to trace back
Bedok North - Novena - about 30 mins
Novena - Bras Basah - about 20 - 25 mins
It is probably a 1030 slot, estimated to reach PSR at 1400
I could be wrong about the timing (especially expressway sector time). Do correct me if I am wrong.
All, today is 29 August. Any news about new hougang feeder? Cheers.
