Loading increase but probably wrong timings..

only svc from NYP, ITE, Anderson JC and AMK Ave 10 to Serangoon.. Also only bus svc from Lorong ah soo to Kaki Bukit.
I study at NYP and i take 45 daily. DD always come at wrong timings (Where pax can board easily) While SD always comes when the bus stop is already packed
SBS7475T (BRBP 88) and SBS3249G (BRBP 88) on 88 bunched at Ang Mo Kio ave 3 at 2.35 pm
Spotted 3 sv 147 DDs bunch along Bendemeer. All 3 came within 1 minute interval one after the other without any bus in between. Such a common sight during AM peak, wonder why SBST does not do anything about it.
I have been observing two to three 179 buses come at the same time in the morning at around 7:20am. Sometimes, one or two relatively empty 179A buses drive pass a outside-NTU-campus bus stop, which I feel that it is a waste of resources.
Seriously, I wish LTA can consider taking out some buses from the 179/179A fleet and use those buses to create a new short-working trip of 179, for people staying along Pioneer Road North to take to Pioneer MRT Station. At least during peak hours.
179 outside NTU campus is not reliable, but people still take it because it takes them to Pioneer MRT, especially for people staying at N8 and N9 who only have 179 along Pioneer Road North.
May I nominate 179 to be in this reward-penalty scheme that is meant to make sure bus services come on time? Thanks.

Bro.. sv 179 has one of the best frequencies ever... you have a bus every 03 minutes that too DDs and most DDs in AM run empty back to Boon Lay (that means enough capacity for Pioneer Rd North residents to Pioneer MRT)
Why complain or even think of reward-penalty for a service with such super high frequency? Tell me which other service in Singapore has this amazing frequency that too with all DDs.
SBS6047C & SBS5110J bunched on Svc 32 along Frankel Ave.

It is still necessary to operate 179A , especially during the AM Peak. This is to cater the heavy crowd heading into NTU.
However, I do agree that there is a need to cap the no of 179A trips, in order to cater the heavy crowd along Pioneer Road North (Esp the BS @ Blk 840) during the AM peak. Poor people at this BS, doesn't have any other alternative service and they are seeing empty 179A passing through.Their frustration is definitely understandable compared to some meaningless complain over why there are lesser 179A operated but more 179 operated on that particular day.
Overall, 179A is still short working trip and the main focus should be operating the full route.
I will suggest you to write in to LTA and SBS about this issue, so that they can look into your feedback.

Sometimes due to traffic conditions and heavy pax loading, there might be some instances where several 179A buses bunched together. This result in the pressure on the subsequent 179 buses which operate full route.
Thats why there is no need for this service to receive additional bus under the BSEP scheme.
Talking about Service 179A during the PM peak
Based from observations and also from e-timetable from SBS Transit, there are many downroutes that start from WKWSCI Bus Stop which I felt it is unnecessary as sometimes 2-3 buses might bunch together and result in mostly empty buses and irregular frequency. 179A is still important as mentioned by some, I think more should be allocated to Service 179, if not some of the downroute start at Lee Wee Nam bus stop and still retaining some at WKWSCI Bus Stop to cater students mostly from the South Spine.

sbst272 has not read this... don't you remember how much he kept complaining about 179A trips not enough until all of us lamblast him.

179A PM trips look redundant to me. Look at the freq, it just make things worst by jamming BNL Int.

There is also a need to know why LTA allocate buses to all other services like 243 & 241 rather than 179.

to be frank, as a frequent traveller on 179/179A, this timetable is not really strictly followed... I see 179A starting from Hall 1 bus stop or school of CEE...they dun really start at a certain stop though most 179A buses will still start at WKW stop..
Some of the BCs will see where the demand is at and stop accordingly while some selfish BCs will just hide and follow "secretly" behind another 179/179A...
And it is definitely necessary to start downroute at WKW for both 179/179A...students from south spine sometimes have to wait for 3-4 buses as they were already packed from LWN and school of CEE stop..this is especially evident between 5-7pm

Agreed. Yesterday i took SBS9670H on 179A at around 415pm and only 2 pax (including me) was onboard..
Originally posted by SBS3688Y:quite often i see sv 43 & 43M buses bunching or at close range to each other. from Punggol/Buangkok toward Serangoon already start to bunch.
During certain time in AM peak, there is a bus every 05 mins to Serangoon. Maybe because of that bunching will be more common.
I remember 3 years back sv 43 had a horrible frequency of 20-22 minutes with only 17 buses, out of which only 2 DDs. Huge huge improvement since those days!! Now totally 27 buses...
3 903(bendy) + 1 903P(Yutong) bunch today..between 7:25am - 7:35am
Out of 4 buses, 3 were packed to the door(Yutong was the first, followed by 1145S n 1193C)~~
Obvious reason was that the buses were all late..
903 and svc plying Wld Ctr Rd should have at least 2 standby buses during peak periods..
Did 302 pass BSRP?
Time: 635pm
Location: Opposite YewTee MRT
Incident: TIB1084J (302), TIB1219M (302A), TIB1082P (302) and TIB1204E (302) bunch together.
Time: 635pm
Location: YewTee MRT
Incident: TIB1217T and SMB3077U (both 302) bunch together. SMRT staff told BC of SMB3077U not to leave the stop too fast, let TIB1217T leave awhile first then SMB3077U leave...
Service 307:
1. 440pm at Blk 754 stop, SMB1415R bunch with SMB3030D
2. 6.45pm at Blk 754 stop, SMB1566M, PA9495B (not sure plate no), SMB1570A bunch
3. 6.50pm at Blk 702 stop, PA7184L bunch with SMB54E
Sbs transit is sending two 291 buses together on east loop everyday. Notice last 2 weeks continuous. I confused. Enter first bus or get into second. No spotting standee anymore on 291.
