Does anyone have final photos of the Leyland Olympians waiting to be scrapped?
It would be good if somebody filmed the scrapping process..
Opps... Thanks for the correction.
They were the first ever airconditioned double decker buses brought in by Singapore Bus Service (SBS) and was nicknamed "Superbus" with the 'S' stylised with the SBS logo, due to the impressive 12m length of the vehicle at that time. The Superbus nickname also had a unique livery which stuck for most of the airconditioned double decker fleet that were brought in until the arrival of the low floor double decker buses.
Also notable is that the 200 Leyland Olympian 3 axles purchased by SBS were the last batch of Leyland buses ever built, with the last chassis ON21080 registered as SBS9168S (likely for auspicious reasons), though the fate of ON21080 still remains a mystery while most of its cousins were scrapped after retirement.

Goodbye, SBST Leyland Olympians (19 November 1986 - 26 April 2013).
Having served us for more than 25 years, the 400 double deckers do encounter mishaps and most of them managed to survive for at least 16 years. The earlier NAC Leyland Olympians were scheduled to be de-registered in 2001-2002 but they were given extensions to its original 15 years' lifespan, while the later batches, having its statutory lifespan extended to 17 years (19 years with extension), but due to SBST planning to make majority of the fleet air-conditioned, all NAC Leylands only survived until 2003-2004. For the AC Leyland Olympians, they were originally scheduled to be de-registered in 2010-2011 due to the order of the Volvo B9TLs, but due to late delivery replacements, 145 of them managed to receive lifespan extensions for 2 years, and eventually 113 of them were de-registered between 14 September and 27 December 2012, while the remaining were de-registered between March and April. Thanks for your services for all these years as the last batch of Leyland buses to be manufactured by Leyland, and eventually Volvo.

SBS9000S - SBS9021G were automatically de-registered due to the order of Volvo B9TLs and due to late delivery replacements.
Some of the buses are their favourites (likewise SBS9168S) and should not be taken away at the end of 17 years lifespan. Only those that are very bad condition (likewise A/C ducts never change, propulsion never change) will be de-registered at the end of 17 years lifespan.

good news for you all.
today, saw a LO3x with the large 22 desto parked at the Kranji scrapyard at about 1pm
its front is facing the main gate/road, but the reg plate is gone.
so HURRY!

If anybody sees the preserved chassises of SBS 9168S and SBS 9199C, please post it here.

SBS9199C scrapped, SBS9168S awaiting exportion to other country.
Leyland branded buses and Japanese public buses are extinct in Singapore These few years will see more of the 17 to 19 years era of the public buses from the 90s coming to a close.. as the transition started since a few years ago. So get ready - cherish them while you can when they're still around, and share the memories and stories to our future generation when they're gone!

Proven SMRT is better than SBS because SMRT buy many Superlions and MANdy~ Superlions and MANdys are the best SBS should also buy~
Now what? Clone had citaro? Cool. Now have to get rid of his MAN addiction.
Let's start off with 3049B getting in accident on 2nd day rev svc, SMB251C and SMB333A getting into an accident not long after receiving its ad
