I was observing that there was a 165 and 132 that came almost empty and were filled to the brim. The BC had to stop people from entering at one point. 74 and 88 came and already were quite full, adding to the pains. Then within a minute 25 and another 74 came and relieved the crowd.
Within 5 minutes, it took 6 DDs to relieve the crowd.
This is what I call HIGH loading...
Yeah..
You should also try at Punggol Road bus stop (Before TPE) during Morning Peak hours. Svcs 27,83,88,89,161,965 filled to the brim. 161 is the worst, DDs full by the time reach that stop. You can see 27 and 89/89e bunching up at that stop
What is the morning peak hour time at this Punggol road bus stop? I will check it coz I want to see if AMK ave 3 is more busy or this one ;)

6.50am-8.30am
Obviously AMK more busy because got MRT...
The Bukit Panjang Road bus stop (Before BKE) also crowded. Now became bus hub already..

Which stop according to you has more crowd than AMK Ave 3. Interested to know. I think the stop at Tampines Ave 1 (Safra) is also heavily crowded though not as much as AMK Ave 3.
Simple.
Buona Vista at morning peak.

Neh.... Nothing comparable...
Ok.
Then congratulations to you.
AMK Ave 3 is the more crowded then.
Yay
Today, 74 depart from Hougang Int with 2 people on board only.

Yay
When it rains, during peak hours and with MRT crowd, the queue for bus can even stretch all the way to the toilet at the MRT station

74 has high loading only in 1 direction is what I have observed. But at that time the full route from Dover to Hougang has high loading (eve peak). The opposite side the bus will be only half full.
Another stop where there is a lot of crowd is Bugis Junction, but I guess with DTL the load here will reduce.

Why don't SBS and SMRT just use Citaros and Citaro Gs!!!
I still like the Punggol Road bus stop. More crowded than Bukit Panjang bus stop.
Btw, yesterday i saw 89e DD filled to the brim.
Wow. That's amazing!!
I think another bus stop that has huge crowds is Bugis Junction. Dunno if you agree with me on this, but all buses get filled to the brim at this stop.

not all, most only. some services that dont get full are 2 12 32 33 130 197 980, while others like 133 145 851 960 are almost full.
I tend to agree with most but 2, 7, 80 get completely jam packed.
Today i saw 3 Double decks on Service 161 bunching up at Punggol Road...
Were they all full

Actually Buona Vista can have the tendency to have more people in AMK Ave 3.
Why? CCL and EWL interchange.
This morning I saw 3 969 bendies back to back with full pax even to the rear

CCL has robbed that stop of quite a few pax. It is also the reason for the removal of SWT 95. (at least for 95C)
But to say that it is not comparable to the AMK stop is a big joke.
Obviously has never seen that place during morning peak.
Perhaps the only other place I can think of that could have matched the chaos was Boon Lay Int in the past (not sure now) during morning peak.
Now that I think back, AMK is really nothing comparable.
I don't think I curse and swore as much there.
To board the 92 or 95 bus in those beholden days would require one to whack and thrust your way through, or pray that the BC allows you to board the rear door and get a free ride!
Just imagine.
Now I know why SBST insist on having 74 with some SDs..Freq is almost 3-7 mins during peak and with 34 buses why the need of fully DDs when the journey is not 85% all the pack unlike 51.Sometimes we need to understand bus operation leh.Because of 2-3 buses packed to the brim we can't expect the svc must fully DDs right? If some of you one day work for public Tpt then you know why with limited resources to play around and c'mon we can't pleased everyone right?See what happen to 109.2nd DDs always 50% full only even pm peak
I dont think you know 74's loading well enough dude.
Peak areas even include Serangoon North towards AMK (unlike some who claim that 74 is empty in one direction at evening peak), somewhat erratic but regular high loading at all times of the day, and very high loadings even at night.
And I can't stand the fact that I ALWAYS face the risk of missing the 74 bus just because a SD comes and just refuses to stop at what? 1030pm! I had that a few times already at Adam Road.
You ask me and I will tell you that 43 is the one that should just give its DDs to 74.
Have you tried taking 74's morning SD to AMK from HG?
You can't.
Half the time, the bus stops picking up pax somewhere along HG Ave 8.
You should just try before you claim that many of us make noise for nothing.
Well dun get hot because of this issues but you need to know the logistic and resource too dude.I understand your feelings but then again it's up to their decision cause they know better through test and IDFC data.Like we gain some we lose some.I actually can't be bothered too with LTA/SBST/SMRT
Furthermore in SG when the fleet is full DDs again ppl see empty they complain again wasted la etc..SG is getting crowded liao and I know someone say 74 is basically is student svc so you think?
And I think 74 BCs must have huan dio someone on top.
Back in 2001, when 165, a then fellow high-loading service threw out its VO2X and 0305s, I thought 74 would do the same.
We knew what happened after that don't we?
74 became the last cross-country VO2X service.
