Hmm. It said to operate on peak hours but I think it only operates 2 times... Quite convenient for people to take express ride from orchard to home.

Anynews on 114, 116 and 118?
Most suitable deployments :
114
Hougang -> Jurong East
116
Sengkang -> Bukit Panjang
118
Punggol -> Tuas
Plus the oncoming 117
117
Hougang -> Bukit Batok
well the whole HGDEP area is going to be ultra-developed...
Serangoon Int can't handle any more services for now. Explains the reason why no services I wanted to start in Serangoon Int.

Wrong. In Jan 2011, SBST introduced Premium 761 from AMK to CBD area.

if u r so interested in coming out with your own routings, why not make suggestions thru your MP? recently the MP in my ward is asking for feedback on the services in the ward. i believe he shd be bringing it to MOT/LTA/PTC attention bah...

It is good to see that most of the buses introduced actually are doing very well. 43, 45, 5, 185 - all have DDs in its fleet and good frequency.
SBST should consider introducing a new route from Hougang / Senkang to CCK / BBT / Boon Lay.
Double deckers are always good everywhere and anywhere XD
Can't agree more!!!
Which is your favorite DD route?
Mine is 21, 25 and 88

What's your reason for 88? :)

The DM3500s that permed it before.
They're readily fast on TPE.
Plus now high chance of riding a CDGE.
Only service with perm VSO outside my house.
Is 130 loadings high enough for a few double deckers?
No. 130 does not have enough loading to justify DDs. High loading is only uni-directional during peak.
High loading areas:
Bugis to Balestier road (North direction) & AMK to Sing Ming Ave (South direction). Overall pax do not exceed 50.

I agree.
LTA just need to do a bit more to improve some places like shifting low branch trees away from the kerbs, build a integrated air con DD friendly interchange in Changi airport, deepen the road along Upper Bukit Timah Road, and reroute 73, 105 and 159.

I completely agree with branches and Changi aircon DD friendly interchange - very much needed. But what will people around Lor Chuan do if you divert 73, 105 and 159. Anyway, of the 3, I think only 105 may need DDs. The others really dont.

Should divert 105 to CTE then...

So what should the 105 route be according to you?

105's route
Braddell Rd
CTE
AMK Ave 1
S'goon Ave 3
S'goon Ave 2
btw, svc 43 goes near my house. HEAVILY UTILIZED. I go to nex, wan to take 43 go home, can't even get seat on SD bus. Once there was double 43 deployed. second bus took 70M's load. nex bus stop empty and bus is full ttm. 43 is very heavily utilized. usually from parkway parade until blk 969 buangkok green. frm there v. empty liao. if u see from buangkok mrt then of course empty lah. 109 no need DD my foot. i waiting for 109, citaro come, i cannot board, bus full. then at least like 90pax queueing up for 109, DD came, everyone can board but still very full. i live near there, i know. like svc 156, only utilized duing moring peak and evening peak. other than that its usually always empty.

I have seen 109 full at AMK Ave 3 / YCK junction and then at Buangkok Green, the same DD was empty - so I assume the main loading is for the blocks around Hougang Ave 9/4. Correct me if I am wrong.
43 is still a mystery for me. I never see a full DD (with even standing pax) but I do agree that it must be getting well utilized otherwise SBST is not stupid to add 3 more DDs to it. But my observation is during peak hours and the bus is empty all the way from Paya Laber to Nex, gets full at NEX, again empty by YCK/AMK Ave 5 junction. So is this the only high loading part for the bus? But then there is a 70 that mirrors the route right from Paya to YCK/AMK and may be if a 70 is ahead, the 43 behind is empty?
That depends. Svc 70 usually operates at a 20min freq. at nex corridor, but svc 70 has quite some strider perms during peak hours, while svc 43 can be up to a 6min freq. At parkway parade area, big crowds and is understandable. at paya lebar, by that time, 70's strider perm is full, while svc 43 is around 7pax. by the time it reaches nex, 70 cannot tahan and will leave many passengers to take svc 43. then from there onwards until YCK-Buangkok Green then the bus is mostly empty. You should go to nex on a saturday at around 2015hrs, very crowded. last time when svc 43 had a B10M MkIII perm, bus driver had to shout many times for people to move in to the back of the bus. With KUBs its still the same. With DDs it can take the load of 2 buses, which is why if a second DD comes later, it usually will be empty. Like svc 165, DDs are very empty.
Ha ha. How does 165 come into the picture? It has nothing to do with 43 / 70.
But I do agree with your analysis. I guess the main loading for 43 is Marine Parade to Paya Laber and then NEX to Buangkok Green.
But the loading at Marine Parade would very much depend on whether there is a 76 or 135 ahead of it. And Paya Laber - UPP Serangoon, there are many buses in parallel. At NEX, again the loading would depend on whether there is a 70 DD ahead. But yet the # pax at NEX is so high, that just 1 DD is not enough to clear the crowd.
What I disagree with is the frequency of 70. IF you observe at NEX, a 70 comes every 6-7 mins while a 43 will come every 12 mins or so. But each 70 that comes, goes completely packed to the brim unless it is a 70 bunching.

The second main route is guranteed to be from Buangkok Green to NEX.
For those heading to CBD area to work they can don't need to take 88 to transfer to NSL, they can take 43 to Serangoon and change to NEL/CCL. Plus 88 by the time reach Buangkok Green fill TTM already. Plus 43 got go through Punggol, Sengkang and Buangkok Green MRT, then those people can just take NEL all the way down instead of taking 43 to Serangoon. But for those at Buangkok Green, they either take 325 or 88 or 43. So 43 is basically a cashcow service for SBST. Another fact that SBST Introduced 43A to ply Buangkok Green - NEX is due to people's complaint of there is no space to enter a full pax bus and the frequency of 43 sucks. Can already see that SBST wants people to take 43 instead of 70/76. Suggests that SBST MAY adjust 70/76's route slightly to avoid heavy duplication with 43 from YCK RD.

I think 76 should re-route to Ubi Avenue 2, Jalan Eunos and Still Road
