Cannot figure out what bullshit SMRT is doing here... they're taking 965 for a toy and just keep on taking advantage of it.
As you can see, here is the timeline:
When 965 first started in 2002, it has OAC, CAC and Volgren O405s. (Maybe some Lances I think, can't remember much)
But after some time, 965 was merrily kicked off AMDEP.
Then for some reason, the CACs were thrown to other svcs and 965 was dumped with a few OACs.
After that, SMRT was so stupid enough to go and take 965's Volgren to deploy on 950. And switched 950's "torn-down" JB OACs... so basically, 965 at that time is one of the few mono-fleet svcs in SMRT.
Then, its long-waited rewards came. 237U, 238S and 242D came to 965, becoming the F1RST few WAB perms on 965. But they didn't stay for long. They then went to 187 and OACs came back to serve 965. That motherf***ing thing is, 187 didn't turn WAB.
Afterwards, another wave came. 276U and 277D came over first, but was almost instantly thrown over to 966. So, 280T, and also 281R from 969 came over. At first i thought this was the end and they were gonna stay for good. But what the f***! They went over to 859 and 171 respectively and thrown the CACs back to us! This is the situation i hate the most. When you are downgraded, you get your rewards and then your rewards are switched with the already worn-out stuff you were taken away before.
Then I heard the BCs takling about 760 and 474 replaced with MANs, but of course that was total crap and did not happen.
Was is SMRT taking 965 as? Even 969 can retain its MANs and even get BSEP upgrades, while 965 was only listed but no BSEP till now. SMRT huh. I boycott since 280 and 281 is gone, but I can stop if an improvement that can happen long and good is implemented onto 965.

I find 965 ok with it's buses atleast it is not that torn off.
Anyone still remember 167? When the 04s came in 1995-1996 they were very 'decent' 496K-510C, Afterwhich KJ took over, 798P 799L 808U 809S 810L + 821E and 822C, Gradually by the millenium years it got downgraded only a few mercz left, with some lances and scanias perming it. And in year 2008 when the OCs came in, 167 also had a share of it, along with the citaros in 2011.

I juz dun like it that SMRT is taking advantage of 965. I also felt indignant for 965, as 969 can get more WAB perms while 965 is still stuck with its old fleet... gives 965 a bad reputation.

I find 965's fleet pretty decent to be honest. If you're a bus fan living in SE/YI/Thompson area in the 90s, and saw 167 grown from a very decent fleet to something thrashy, how would you feel? I am ok with 965's fleet anyway.

Give old fleet =/= bad reputation =.=" And to edit on your post, 187 did turn WAB after 237U/238S thrown over.

Good enough that SMRT didn't put ELBOs on this service...

Yup I remember.
167 used to stick only to 0405s OAC and NAC fleets without any secondary models back then. KJDEP also treated 167's fleet very well.
It was in Jul 1999 when 167 came under full WLDEP, that WLDEP threw in all the Scanias and even NAC Nissan UDs came back onto 167. It became a bad reputation then...
Looks like 119 might be getting WAB in Dec.
Hope 70/70M gets it as well.

WLDEP give 167 Nissans before? Didn't knew that.
What about 461K and 462H? Did they took WLD 167 before?

Yup, they did 167 before when WLDEP opened in 25 Oct 1998. 167 was partial WLDEP/KJDEP during those days, and the fleet under WLDEP...
460M 461K 462H 463E 464C 465A 822C 742A 743Y 744U
And I remember 167's fleet became something like this after 25 Jul 1999...
311K 315A 318S 651D 653Z 655T 658K 659H 660C 661A 662Y 663U 833X 834T
822C remained on 167 thruout.
If I am not wrong the 46x series were all redeployed over to Rapidbus 700 which got transferred from KJDEP to WLDEP then.
Originally posted by SBS8676Z:Yup, they did 167 before when WLDEP opened in 25 Oct 1998.
461K 462H etc were taken out from 167 and deployed to 700 in Jul 1999.
And I remember 167's fleet became something like this...
311K 315A 318S 651D 653Z 655T 658K 659H 660C 661A 662Y 663U 833X 834T

Wow, How time really flies. 311K 315A 318S gone, Now it is 651D 653Z 655T 658K 659H 660C 661A 662Y 663U turn to go. How sad eh?
As for 822C it might live for another 2 years or so. How I'd wish it could end its time on a service though.

OT: I wonder how will 178's fleet be like when Scanias up to 670Z go off. 178 keeps getting all the old buses and I still remember a full Nissan UD fleet for 178 back in 2006.
671X till 674T still got another 2 years to go.

With SMB2E on 178 as a headstart in 2011, I would not be surprised to see it having citaros or MAN on 178. Don't have to worry :)

Yup. Same goes to 853 with 120Y. It will be WAB,maybe after more MAN comes in
Probably SMB2E n SMB120Y is somewhat a "tester" to see if there's a need to make the service WAB(like if necessary)

2E replaced one of the Nissan UDs on 178 if I am not wrong, not sure which one.
120Y replaced 930Z on 853 which went to lay-up. Same goes for 130T 131R 132M which replaced 921A 933R 1257C on 980.
853 maybe as man cameos often
518....okay...
73....maybe based on TPY
TPY Feeder can liao

2E took 656R which inturn took 1170T's timing.
If only TPY infrastructure all are ready...
If only this happened...
Note: Just a wish, it's not an official press release.

Service 73 can be WAB already as it is no longer at Gate D1.

5-6 of them is redundant. 11 only crossover, 372 only 2 WABs. 119 can if you kick in 1 more WAB and kick out a B10M. 73 shift berth. 103 and 112 please modify. 103 no WAB at all

Previously, several services got WAB buses on the day it turns WAB. Then some of listed bcos TPY not ready. Then the rest from wishes in this thread. I do believe 62, 70/70M, 73, 82 & 83 can turn WAB very soon. Maybe end-of-year or start to mid-next-year

Do remember if want WAB for SBST must have at least 60% WAB fleet. SMRT case is different.
