Accident between SMRT bus and a motorcycle on PIE towards Tuas just before Clementi Rd exit at around 6pm, causing massive jam. The motorcyclist leg was severed. Was stuck in the jam for more than 1 hour.

DAF bus is dangerous and creepy!!! Scrap them all and replace with Citaros!!!If SBS buy any more creepy China bus more of these horrible accident may happen!!!!

The "best" part of this whole accident was how late the LTA and EMAS were to update the public about the traffic jam. My father was stuck for 2 hours inside due to this accident, and no notices were put saying that there was an accident until 8.30pm, which was possibly 3 hours later. What for have online channels if you only bother to update very late. -

so you assume that the Sv985 SL is at fault? the bus is already at the filter lane... motorcyclist do like to swerve in and out as well and he might have lose control.. Further there are reports that he is trying to siam a car?

Thanks for the update. Yeah, not trying to stereotype anyone, but motorcyclists do love to swerve between traffic, and do follow behind too closely vehicles. This is near the Anak Bukit Flyover, I assume, since 985 is at Lane 1. -

oh you didnt know? he LOVES to assume!
as long as it is involving an smrt bus and it goes along with alot of his assumptions he wld be more than happy to always always always shift the blame onto the smrt driver and link it to other baseless assumption e.g speeding cos tight schedule
if its sbst, well he wld just keep quiet and pretend nth happened

Suspicious object found on SBS Transit bus
Passengers on board SBS Transit bus service 162 were ordered to alight along Bishan Street 23 on Monday evening when a suspicious object was found on the vehicle.
Police received a call at about 6.20pm informing them of the item and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) activated its Hazardous Materials (HazMat) team.
'Our HazMat detectors registered negative readings,' said an SCDF spokesman. At 11pm, the green light was given for the bus to be driven off. Police said there was no threat or danger to the public.

Eh.. That spot the filter lane is not of proper width yet.Even though the bike might be trying to siam w/ a car, there's always this squeezing through mentality..
SMRT 985 SLs are gulity of this. I've taken twice recently, both incidents had this nonsense at Anak Bukit that place.

Baseless assumption? Explain to me then how come there was ever a near side swipe nonsense when the KAP canal collapsed back in January caused by a Sv 961 SL? Skipping bus stops from Coronation all the way to KAP when I stopped and confronted him..
Confronted him he had to help out...Everyone got jam, he so special?
Speeding assumption? You think ppl dunno how to get a stopwatch and time base on the expressway mileage marking?
Tailgating also.. As if ppl dunno how to drive, dunno how to gauage.

I almost got into an accident on a Sv 985 bus before..
What happened? The SL happily accelerated through even though a long line of cars were alrdy signalling to exit the expressway...
Still accelerate, later slam the brake n had the cheek to horn...
Speed? Abt 70km/hr based on the marking on the road.

if not, how u know the bus was speeding, or "squeezing thru"

TIB472D got some probs at Yishun Ave 2 Aft Yishun Ring Road bfore Yishun MRT station. Driver went out and looking at sumtin,passenger alighted. No dents detected on the bus.

Windscreen on an SMRT bus shattered while travelling along Seletar Expressway. Yi Chengwu sent us this video saying there was a "big noise, like a gunshot" before it happened. Bus was on 969 FROM: channelnewAsia fb page
