WAB BENDIES ROCKS~
SBST will surely buy new buses after wrights and citaro maybe 2 years
Wi-fi???Depends
163 full KUB bah....and transfer one 147 B9TL.
My wishlist for 2012:
1. SMRT to deregister the bendies early and replace them with double deckers like Volvo B9TL and Enviro500 (Bendies are causing traffic jams and take more road space. It always happen everyday )
2. SBS Transit to replace Mk4s DM/Striders with Volvo B9RLE, Volvo B9L, Irisbus Citelis, Citaro 3 and/or at least American-made buses (Novabus LFS, New Flyer, Orion etc. - Would be good to see them here )
3.SBS Transit to replace VO3x with Enviro500 and/or Enviro500-bodied B9TL
4.SBS Transit and SMRT to improve frequencies on some bus services.
5.SMRT to bring in Citaro 3, Scania Citywide, MAN Lion City and Volvo B9RLE to replace the O405s
6.MOST IMPORTANTLY, no more or less flame wars in SgForums by 2012

IDW Bendies to be extinct in Singapore and your number 2 is very 切实际 2012 is not the year that DM and striders are deregistering and VO3x is like also have a long way to go... I just wish SMRT don't let bendies extinct after it deregister..

As for more bus services in the north side, SMRT can't even provide better bus services over there after such a long time. They do not have enough resources to even improve the current ones they have. Somemore they are facing a lot of shit on the recent MRT breakdowns. Go improve their MRT first. Let SBST contribute some bus service improvements over there.
How fucking sure are you that SMRT can't provide such better services? I don't live there but seems to me that the SE side doesn't cause much issues like 859 etc I don't see 2 buses coming together at the same time, In my opinion, Out of the three SE and YI most of it seems ok to me unless the traffic conditions are adverse, If not most of them seems fine to me.
Oh, By the way, even SBST's introduction to the SE area doesn't seem to be of use, It's still the same.
Maybe provide a direct bus from WL/SE to Pasir Ris
I now think 133M unlikely to be removed...
Why? Thanks to CCLe, likely CBD leg of CCL becomes 9 mins per branch.. 4.5 mins bet HBF & Promenade...
Good for SMRT.. More empty CCL trains during off peak hrs to come Remember who said abt running unprofitable MRT line?
9 mins freq... + transfer time...

I am damn sure. How many years since SMRT had taken over Sembawang and brought very significant improvements other than amending 858 to Sembawang and introducing 882, which is just a deleted sector of 167 to Sembawang end?
Other than that Sembawang is the most poorly linked estate in Singapore by bus to other places in Singapore. SBST introduction of more bus services will bring more choices for residents there to more places in Singapore.

Agreed...
but MRT?
Wah 10x better than NEL (excluding breakdowns)...
1) 163 get Citaros :D
2) 45 to get more DDs.. Wrights best :D
3) SBST to buy E200 to replace the darts.
4) SBST to buy E400 to replace the VO2Xs.
5) SBST to buy E500 to replace the VO3Xs.
6) 265 to get fleet increasement , + DD or Citaros :D
7) 88 to increase the number of buses running in the morning :D
8) My dearest SBS7888K to transfer to BRBP and perm 88 :D (AMDEP and BRBP buses are interchange-able)
9).... Errr, No more le :D

Are you sure???
CCL confirm worse than NEL. The NSEW lines are still on par with NEL given that they are man operated and so is easier control. But the recent breakdowns shows how poorly runned SMRT is even for their main business...

163 get KUBs bah...
45 get VO3x,Wrights heh leave it for 166
SBST will decide which bus they want to buy to replace the current VO3x in the future
265 currently enough fleet.
7888K hope AMDEP deploy on 166.
Thanks~
Let's put it this way:
Its no coincidence that SMRT has a lot a lot of problems.
Bus problem.
Train problem.
Back-up problem.
And perhaps even worse, PR also problem.
The corporate structure needs a major shake-up to change all of that, but the govt has remained silent of this.
SBST has problems too. But SBST has the advantage of economies of scale in the bus sector, and its NEL has been fairly reliable and its PR is certainly much better than SMRT's.
And seriously, the bendies should just go. They take up space. Plenty of them. If you look at SBST's purchases, they made much more sense than TIBS (even after taking into account the hodge-podge fleet caused by slow expansion). SBST rejected the bendies for very good reasons (reasons people have raised time and again here). TIBS decided to be different and SMRT is paying some of the price.
SMRT could have moved aggressively to end the nonsense.
They didn't.
Worse. They went the opposite direction and concentated on retail and advertising while the core businesses languished.
In many ways also, it is also the system that is at fault. The govt has to keep mum about SMRT's CEO because it needs to build confidence in investors about its promise of "free business environment". Yet ironically, Singapore is not a free market with little govt intervention. Far from it in fact. While this model has its advantages, the bad stuff can be seen in crises like these and you can see that the govt has its hands tied if it wants to carry on this model which it clearly intends to.

163 enought of those pieces of crap le... Use Citaros... And im asking for at least 1 ok...
45 cannot put VO3X... WAB status leh the svc....
Stupid..
*pops the popcorn*
Fyi, ENVIROs are expensive,
rem SBST got their Wrights coz some tpt coy CANCELLED THEIR order...
Sliding PLUG Door is considered expensive to local tpt coys although MOST UK DDs/Bendys have them, HK newer E500s/WEG IIs use them...
ACx
SMRT to bring in the Scania KUAs when the box bendies retire.

2. For the already screwed MRT service of SG, sv7 is always crowded everyday of the week.
3. 10 shorten to shenton way, how to pple get to kent ridge direct. fyi, bus is a direct svc wic NUS students used to get rest/do homework/revise to get to school.
Frankly are you on the road to see the load capacity of the svc or you are keyboard trigger happy?!
IGNORANCE is blissful if you live in a well.
TAM residents take route 10 to NUS? That is one hell of a butt pain journey, like route 14 from Bedok Camp to Clementi.
Originally posted by Edd1:Dude.....SBST currently have orders for the wrights and citaros this is sufficient already to replace the buses who are gonna deregister as well as SMRT.
I disagree LTA and SMRT to fully ban from buying Bendies...Bendies have its uses also more capacity and it's better than DD.
SMRT have announced to deregister Dennis Lance,Nissan UDs,Hino...DAF and Scania have extension lifespan..
Whats with the citaro again?I rather SBST deploy citaros on low demand services than high demand services 36,39 162 demands are quite high.
Dude...In the north have SMRT alr.
Currently SBST have enough buses alr.No need more demostrators
Haven't all the UDs gone already? Anyway, the Lances and Hinos have only been around since 1997/98, so why are they leaving service already?

So my response hence forth would be....
whatever.
I mean, after all, SBST serves my area and I'm glad for that. I won't swop my 88 DDs for anything in the world.
72 is the worst crawler I've seen. The amount of time I wasted when I took this service is disgusting. Coupled with the huge night-time crowd + lousy frequency makes it the nightmare service.
I should also add that just about any bus transferred to 72 becomes junk in a short while. Its a strange phenomenon seriously.
DDs are trouble because of height restrictions on them along some streets. Why do you think Tibs put bendies on 176 and 67 once they took over responsibilities for these routes?
As for Tibs' past mistakes being carried over into SMRT of today, I feel that Tibs was a company in better shape back in the 1990s. MBT's decision to grant SBS the NEL operator rights in 1999 paved way for the Iron Lady screwing Tibs in 2004.

Our Wrights were originally destined for HK? All of them or only the 3XXX series ones?
