My take on the topic:
1. For WAB Bendys to be introduced on the roads since 2012 make the complete withdrawal of bendys in london
2. More downtrips evening peak till end of service for sv190,700,960 back to CCK,BPJ, WDL
3. More dwntrip morning peak for sv190,960 that commence from BPJ
4. PERM Scanias for sv16
5. Most controversial of the them all: Better scheduling of buses, ie higher capacity buses[DDs,bendys] on weekends so that frequency can be pushed up to 13 - 14 mins so that BCs/SLs can have a better rest, 5day week...

1. 985 to shorten back from Geylang Lor 1 back to Bukit Timah to complement long-distance service.
3. 10 should be shortened to Shenton Way.
Where's Your Brain? Is your brain the size of a pea or you're that guy who wants buses go into Jalan Sungei Poyan?
985 in the first place has demands to west and east. I personally observe 985 on a daily basis and loading for the said service is high esp for people who wants to get to East/West fast since it's going by PIE . You want chop it off for what?
Sv 10 in the first place has demands. If not, they will throw the DD's over to some other service. Go take those buses and then rethink. If not go back to Jalan Sungei Poyan and shoot yourself.

Ya, and this thread is redundant because of the thread starter.
i want a bus thats had a built in resturant.

It depends on the drivers, traffic and the weather..if the weather is bad,you don't expect the driver to chiong so fast.so even 72 goes to ulu ulu place they also shouldn't chiong or drive a bit faster..safety first.

Well said...
To TS, why not extend some routes to Jalan Sungei Poyan or any other "fabulous" places?

Thank you Captain Obvious. you have taught me many things. I am very grateful to you.

Do you even take 72.....
Its slow. TERRIBLY slow. I switched to 88 simply because I cannot stand the lousy night-time frequency with the slow speed. Taking train then 88 to get to Hougang from Tampines is actually faster!
The following services need to slow down....169, 969, 853! Particularly 169.
Jalan Sungei Poyan part of Area D can anyhow go in meh?!
PTC bus service will approve as premium service!
haha
72's night time run time 58 mins?
What I want for 2012:
1. A few more Citaros to KJDEP.
2. 10 BYD K9 buses SMRT ordered earlier in June this year.
3. SMRT to introduce WAB bendy buses such as Volvo B9LA or Mercedes-Benz Citaro G.
4. Deploy MAN buses to perm on Service 61, 67, 172, 190, 307 and 858.
5. Service 67, 190, 852 and 963 to be the next WAB services.
- SBST to buy more double deckers, and of other makes, like Volvo B9TL with Enviro 500 body, Alexander Dennis Enviro 500, MAN Lioncity double decker, and maybe a Mercedes Benz Citaro double decker specially for SBST.
- SBST to get more hybrid demostrators from European makes like Volvo B5L, 7700, Mercedes Benz Citaro, MAN LionCity, Irisbus Citelis
- SBST to get more full low floor single decker buses like Mercedes Benz Citaro 3, Volvo B9RLE, MAN LionCity, Irisbus Citelis, Alexander Dennis Enviro 300, etc
- SBST to introduce more services to the north and northwest and an express airport service from the west and a city service to Punggol. More bus services parallel to MRT lines as MRT is not reliable. Maybe extend 11 to Eunos, 76 and 162 to Yishun.
- Deploy Citaros to services like 36, 39, 85, 162.
- Faster trips for some SBST services (e.g. 72, 81, 196) although generally many of them are already faster. Further optimise frequencies of some services as well.
- Preserve a Volvo Olympian 2xles in SBST HQ as part of remembering the last non air con bus in Singapore.
- LTA and SMRT to fully ban new bendy buses and SMRT to bring in double deckers in future, probably from MAN. Reintroduce double deckers to 190.
- SMRT to remove the in board annoucements in their new buses like the Citaros and MAN. Damn irritating and unnecessary.
- SMRT to deregister the Dennis Lance, Scania L113s, Nissan UDs and DAFs by early 2012 and all replaced by MANs.

2. Fren, China BYD has closed down their electric division PERMANENTLY since june
4. Downtrip MAN buses on sv190 every evening[YMCA]
5. 190 WAB... super difficult base on current resources...
Wonder why every bus fan is obsessed with sv36 having citaros?!
The current Scanias for sv36 cannot even support the capacity during peak hours and weekends, having citaros will be worse, it will be similar to sv16, bus come cannot board coz bus capacity is limited

Dude.....SBST currently have orders for the wrights and citaros this is sufficient already to replace the buses who are gonna deregister as well as SMRT.
I disagree LTA and SMRT to fully ban from buying Bendies...Bendies have its uses also more capacity and it's better than DD.
SMRT have announced to deregister Dennis Lance,Nissan UDs,Hino...DAF and Scania have extension lifespan..
Whats with the citaro again?I rather SBST deploy citaros on low demand services than high demand services 36,39 162 demands are quite high.
Dude...In the north have SMRT alr.
Currently SBST have enough buses alr.No need more demostrators

You have look further towards the Volvo Olympians that are going to be deregistered within the next few years.
Sorry, bendy buses takes up too much space, causing too much jams and delays along bus stops, bus depots and bus interchanges. Double deckers can do a better job with half the space it occupies. It will be a smart move by SMRT to switch to double deckers in the long run.
High demand services coupled with better frequncies can still use buses like the B10Ms and Citaros.
SMRT doesn't do a very good job in providing bus services in the north and northwest. SBST can chip in to help to provide more links to other parts of Singapore.
SBST needs more demostrators for evaluating future fleet purchases and looking into green technologies. What are you talking about???

my sarcastic reply was utmost sarcastic because i just came home after taking the last 72 bus home & reading such a reply from Captain Obvious makes it worse. I make no apologies to Edd1 for his comments.
last night was so slow that if the bus were to hit a tree, both bus & tree will suffer NO damage.
if service 100 could revise their last bus timings along the route, i don't see why 72 can't.

50 mins will be comfortable..... considering there was once we took 6mins from last stop to interchange. crawling.

SBST DDs
SMRT Bendies
I suggest that citaros can deploy on all feeder services then others to the trunk services like 165,196,93 and also DDs for 96.
SMRT have already taken the north side so even..If you can just suggest new routes to SMRT.
VO batch 1 deregistering next year Batch 2 deregistering @ 2013-2015 while batch 3 is 2016-2017..SBST will buy buses within either 2-3 years?before the old buses is gonna deregister.
For bendies.yes it takes alot of place but it's still good because of capacity,it's a trademark for SMRT but bendies are faster than the DDs.

Looking into the feasibility of usage of types of buses based on infrastructures, traffic flows, and cost of operating, and not operate based on trademark for company.
Bendies put SMRT operations into a very bad shape, overcrowded depots, jamming of roads/bus stops/bus interchanges which delays timings of other buses and all passengers, burned buses which decrease fleet counts, etc. Anyway, other than 190 and poor frequency services, bendies are not fully utilised all the times and takes up twice road space as a double decker and single decker.
Thus it will be a smart move for SMRT to switch to double deckers and no bendies in the long run.
As for more bus services in the north side, SMRT can't even provide better bus services over there after such a long time. They do not have enough resources to even improve the current ones they have. Somemore they are facing a lot of shit on the recent MRT breakdowns. Go improve their MRT first. Let SBST contribute some bus service improvements over there.

It's already impossible SBST contribute at the northern side since the upcoming simpang new town SMRT is taking over.
Double deckers is a trouble for SBST...overcrowding so i rather SMRT still use bendies than using DDs but somehow DDs and bendies have its own good points and bad points so you can't say smrt didn't make full use of bendies they are just reserves. But please, don't be so prejuiced to bendies, double deckers also have it own bad point..you think,if SMRT bought DDs deployed on 190 and other high demands services, will it solve the problem?no definitely not.Bendies delays?think properly the reason why it delays time...becuase WE singaporeans taking our own sweet time to board on the bus.thats why i cause delays.
