...that SBST's B10M front wheel rims are uniquely SBST? No other B10M has the spokes.
The cooling fins are supposed to scoop air into the brake pads as the wheel rotates to cool them and improve braking performance.

There's some examples of b10m in the usa using the same rims, but in addition they have nut guards installed too.
I stand corrected.
But dang....how I miss those red rim guards on our B10Ms.

*an image of a b10m nac dm suddenly zips across my mind*
Yes, how could i have forgotten! Sadly the rims nowdays are simply either silver or black (or cream).
Miss the colourful days where there was red and orange!
All the B10M variants....had red rim guards on some examples. Except the DM3500s....don't recall the 150 of them having any rim guards.
I thought the best looking was the Strider MKIV with red rim guards.

Hmm, what i remember was for the dm3500s, they just had their center of the axle painted red, but no rim guards at all.
Those DM mk4s looked pretty neat too in those days.
Anyway, do you recall if the soon chows had any rim guards when they were still serving sentosa services? I dont seem to remember if they had or not.

Thay have rim guards during the days for Sentosa buses. After that, think they are removed...

Don't recall Striders have red rim guards after the MKIIIs.
Oh they definitely did.
The memory is etched very deeply because they really looked good when they were introduced in 1997.
Red rim guards, red centres. Same went for the MKIV DMs.
But only some examples had them.
Perhaps the rim guards were swopped between all the B10Ms across variants and they came from the MKII/IIIs.

Think they were swopped.
I don't recall the Striders have red rim guards, as all of them were silver.
Anyone interested can look at the last photo of this site.
A bit blur....but very clear red rims for that MKIV Strider.
And I dont think the Superlong and Artic and DM3500s had rim guards.
Looks like my memory has served me well in this case.

Most likely swopped. The Striders when new all had silver rim guards.
SBS997A had rim guards for a while but the Artic 60 has no rim guards.
DM3500s a few of the 150 buses had them before all were gone.
Must be rare.
Because I had never seen a single DM3500 with nut guards.
Now, sad to see, none of the B10Ms have them.
Standardisation killed it off.

A handful still have them, like SBS1985

really?
I heard it was removed.
